Don't ask me to justify. Only a wild speculation. Nadal is not worth considering atm. Even if he makes it back I doubt he'll even stay in the top 5 if he skips non-clay events.

Why do you feel SR that Nadal will fall so distantly off the pace? I kind of see it as being something akin t 09 when he went down to injury he came back so strong in 2010. I think Nadal will continue to be at or near the top.

PS why wouldn't I want to know what the knowledgeable Nadal hater Club over here thinks. I guess you guys don't like to talk about anything not revolving around Nadal's current blood test results.

By the way this post is completely original, I do not have predictions for slam winners anywhere else the only thing from 606v is the ranking prediction, all of the text is original. But raider I don't expect anything but silly misrepresentation and attacks from you anyway. So this is not a repeat post, except for the order of my top 5 prediction. Hmmmm, socal, for a Djoko fan you seem overly anxious about what's being said re Nadal.

Look, this is not rocket science. It's very simply. How old was nadal in 09 and how old will he be 2013? Physically, you'll be looking at an early bloomer who's done great stuff very young but now almost passing his prime going from 26 to 36, again, physically speaking. Not a very optimistic picture, I'm afraid. But of course, feel free to disagree.

I tend to agree with SR, let's see though, we don't know how or when Nadal will return.

I don't visit 606v2 often, but I've seen such threads either from someone or the other over there. I didn't say you in particular have posted any such threads, but good you clarified it. So actually you misinterpreted what I said.

When did I attack you? This is the my first conversation with you on this forum. So why did you accuse me of attacking you?

Well, that one is open to debate about your predictive qualities. I will give you this concession you were an earlier proponent of the overwhelming value of fitness in modern tennis. No one disputes that but some would dispute the ratio of your talent/fitness ideas. How much of what is required is my meaning, you put too much stock in the fitness alone.

Wow Legend I like it you are going out on limb with Berdy. What makes you think that Tomas has figured it out enough to beat the top guys enough? I think it is his new super hot girlfriend, berdych right now is leading the stakes in the ultimate trophy in tennis the WAG trophy, most prestitigious in all of sports.

SR, I think Nadal will be very fresh when he comes back and what we have seen over the last couple of years is that a healthy and fresh Nadal is a very dangerous prospect indeed. I see Nadal being just behind Novak and Andy on the hardcourts next year, maybe Del Boy and fed has something to say about that.

Frankly you cannot argue againgst the poor quality of shotmaking in the Nadal/Djoko/Murray matches. How can talent express itself without explosiveness, after 6 or 7-shot rallies? As mentioned the other day, even Lydian agrees with me now on this one.

Everything is done nowadays to actually secure a win and not let talent, a big variable even with talented players, to rule the outcome of a match.

Once we understand those players are playing for a fortune and want to leave absolutely nothing to chance, we understand modern tennis.

The best example is the USO11 final. The winner was the one with a back problem. He had done the damage in the first 3 sets and just had to reap the reward easily in the fourth...despite being injured.

Tenez, ill pick this up after I get a couple of hours of work done. But I disagree with you here. The shotmaking has been exceptional from all those players you mention. Winners to Unforced error counts are a function of so many things from weather, the opponent, the surface, to form. I think all three of those guys when they play each other produce brilliant shotmaking.

Brilliant in the sense they get to ball others won't and can keep a rally going but shot making wise a Llodra or Dolgo are considerably better.

YOu are mixing physique and shot making which is forgivable as one is dependant of the other.

Feel free but the discussion should be very short. We just need to look at the rallies of those long matches to realise we cannot have both quantity and quality.
