Wimbledon Day 3, Wednesday 3rd July
I think we are still waiting for the tournament to warm up:
AELTC have put the customary Brit no-hopers on the show Courts - Kyle Edmund on CC, and Heather Watston (?) on No. 1.
Court 2 is the best ticket today: Stan, Halep, Anderson, and Gauff
Visitors to Court 3 can assess the form of FAA and Raonic
On Court 12 one can see how Medvedev stacks up on grass, and Azarenka, who I've always rather liked
Were I there I'd stick about on Court 2, otherwise its a day for Pimms and wondering around

The enthusiasm that Day 3 of the world's oldest and most prestigious tennis tournament has whipped up is so ferocious one can almost smell it.....

Now that we've passed the halfway point of the tournament, I have to say it's a bit deflating so far.

Stan out. The deflation just got worse.

Yup - I think it's the feeling that even though the big 3 are now all pretty long in the tooth, not only can nobody else left in the draw win, but none of them deserve to. Without Stan the only other man left who has won a slam is Cilic.
I'll enjoy Fed's game as long as he stays on tour, but right now the men's game desperately needs some new blood. At the moment it's deathly boring.

Stan isn't a grass player and it's no shock.

I know it's just Kudla, but Nole looking very sharp, he's already adjusted his footwork to grass, was a bit like Bambi on ice at times on Monday.

I don't know why people sniff at Kev.
With that serve, he is a different kettle of fish on grass. He knocked out Nole and Fed (notorious Court 1) plus was last year's finalist.

Anderson is effective enough and he’s maxed out his talent, he also conducts himself well. But if one is talking about genuine top players or slam winners he’s not in the conversation. He’s also boring to watch. His match vs.. Isner was the archetype. Big serve but not enough game to deal with an opponent’s big serve. Against the very best he hasn’t enough game to back his serve up. He’s never got to a Masters final and his biggest win has been a solitary 500.
