Delpo losing the first set 4-6. This is his best chance to grab a masters to his name. Get up Delboy and fight..

Reading the summary on the bbc web site it appears that Murray was serving 30/0 for the match and even had MP until he played "carelessly". It makes you wonder how much he wanted to win Paris. As said earlier looks like they are saving themselves for London.

You are reading too much into a tabloid. If Murray didn't care about this match, why was he abusing and cursing himself and looking frustrated? He should have been relaxed about the match whatever be the outcome. Wasn't case as I saw.

Looks like its not even Raonic who will win this masters. Who's left now to claim the trophy?? Tipsy ?? What a horrible thought.

Tomorrow, survival of the fittest:
Simon-Berdych
Janowicz-Tipsarevic
Tsonga-Ferrer
Llodra-Querrey
I am absolutely loving there are none of the top 4 left.
How about Janowicz - Querrey for a final

Remember Rotla about MUrrays match in Cincy when he lost to Chardy? You thought that Chardy played better and Murray did not tank.....but 3 weeks later who won the USO?
And now DP gets out too...DP who beat Federer a few days ago. Looks like those top players are focused on WTF....which is good..but bad for Paris.

Ok, not very nice but that does not strike me as so far outside of what many of them do. I think I will still root for him. But not in this tournament anymore

Kind of pointless to root for him in this one now that he is gone. I am not even sure who to root for here anymore. Maybe Jerzy? It would be something if he could go deep.

A bit gutted Delpo went out - i thought he was on for the hat-trick. Must have been a bit knackered.
C'mon Tsonga. Tsonga-Llodra would be a good one - oif that happens, it's tomorrow, right?

Only Ferrer seems relentless. Is it because he thinks he has a great chance to win a TMS1000 while very little to win matches next week?
BTW when are the pools decided?

Re: ATP MASTERS 1000: Paris Bercy
I think you're right, but Ferrer plays the same way no matter. It's like he never thinks, just hit and hit and hit.
I also think Tsonga will win it, also it'd be nice to see Llodra get there.
The thing with the tanking that I don't understand is this: if it's true that they dope, then why do they need the rest? Why can't they keep going like they're supposed to with the aid of PEDs?
"pools", what's that?

I'm happy for Querrey, he's a nice guy.
What happened?
Querrey d Djokovic 0-6, 7-6(5), 6-4.
Real good match and very well played Querrey. I remember Nadal lost too in similar manner to Davydenko in Doha. Nadal won the first set 6-0 then very closely lost the 2nd in TB and then in a close 3rd lost it. In fact that 3rd was worst, Nadal was a break up and 15*-40 looking for a double break.. then Davy turned it all on its head breaking Nadal twice and winning it. That was a great match. So was this.
Thanks for the summary. So you don't think Djoko tanked?

Completely agree. He seems just happy to run after a ball all day.

Has Ferrer ever won a TMS? Not sure now. But yes Llodra is one of my favourite player.
I guess because all drugs have side effects and they need to clear their bodies for longer periods. For instance it's clear that LA coudl have won many other races but chose to concentrate on the most prestigious. But also cause though PEDdo what tehyt are supposed to do, they probably have limitations. Acid lactic for instance accumulate in muscles cells and there is no way they can rid it all every day and allow same performance day in day out all year round. Drugs I guess improve performance and recovery but they cannot completely substract an athlete from basic physiological conditions. The thing with the tanking that I don't understand is this: if it's true that they dope, then why do they need the rest? Why can't they keep going like they're supposed to with the aid of PEDs?
Like there is no drug that can keep you young for ever.
I meant the round robins draw. (who plays who)."pools", what's that?

I'm not much into tanking theory. However I do believe some players don't try to put their absolutely best head and heart into some matches. They may not take that loss with a heavy heart but that doesn't mean they didn't try to win. They might be a bit casual about it.
It was the 2nd round and his first match. Top players don't enjoy losing in their opening match. Infact no one would. The first set went so easy for Djokovic in 20 min and and early break for 2-0 in 2nd, its could easily look for him that he already has the match in his bag. I do think he could be a bit casual from then on, but I won't say he was ready to lose the match before it even started. So no 'tanking' for me.

Simon tops my list of the most ugly and talentless among the current players. The only way he gets point is when the oppoent makes an error because Simon bores them to death. He doesn't have any tennis weapons of any kind.
His first serves are around 160-170 KM/h, never looking to make anything out of it.
His ground stroke are slow, low pace safe balls just to keep the rally going. His tennis is so weak he can't even force an error. He just can hope for an error. I can't believe he can have nay fans for this ugly tennis.
Berdych was prepared for it, but alas!! couldn't hold his patience long enough.
I just want to see someone thrash the hell out of this ugly player.

And JJ is through!!!!!!
I don't know what the problem was, but pretty lame of Tipsarevic to retire at 1:5 down in the third.
He did the same fairly recently, don't get it.
JJ is one very, very, veeeeeeeeery hugnry young man.

AT that level, that's all it takes to lose a match and that's what I call tanking.

I dont think its just the strings...
He seems to beat his opponents more with his athleticism rather then shot making
