Re: Laver Cup - Anyone Watching
Travelling today. Hope to see a few matches when I get back.
This was an interesting view on it:

I don't know how the format there works, but a Fed-Shapo match would be great to see at this stage.

Another attempt to make national team format apply to tennis. Not interested even slightly

I don't think so.bogbrush wrote:Another attempt to make national team format apply to tennis. Not interested even slightly
That's Davis Cup.
If we get to see Fed-Shapo, not many will think of Switzerland and Russia/Canada.
It's just tennis, relax maaan.

I could not care less either. what's the point?
We want slams and number 1s. The rest is for Barhami.

Yes but once again...reverse in many things. Shapo younger..,but this time much more talented and aggressive plus lefty.
I'd be surprised if Shapo keeps losing to Zverev. However once again, Shapo was the first to SP but yet failed to capitalise after a long tough rally from Zverev.

I saw a bit of fed Kyrgios. Looks like they were really all motivated and taking it seriously.
I quite like this dark court and the yellow ball. It is easy to follow the ball. The courts looked very slow though.

I'd like to see a tournament with:
Team SBH vs Team DBH
Team SBH - Federer, Wawrinka, Shapovalov, Dimitrov, Thiem
Team DBH - Djokovic, Nadal, Kyrgios, Nishikori, Pouille

Shame that really Nadal is a raving narcissist. Also, Zverev wins because he has more experience and is set to dominate tennis.

In theory this was a good idea anyway. Good to see the players took it seriously. Federer even told he felt this was one of his greatest victories of his career so it seems there was a Ryder cup feel over this event.
The Ryder cup is one of the biggest sport events around and after having witnessed it once live, i can tell it's something special. Too bad the americans can't make a strong enough team themselves at the Laver cup because an US-EU match up would definitly spice things up (at least at the US side).

Just one question; after 2019 is Andy Murray on the RoW team?

Re: Laver Cup - Anyone Watching
I read how Federer said winning Laver Cup is one of his best victories.
Surely, he is getting carried away, just like when he said he was super happy for Nadal to win 10th RG.
He is getting gooey in his old age...
Next year it's taking place in Chicago.
I can see it taking root even with Federer out of it.

Federer is the greatest tennis player of all time, but it doesn't stop him having that special mid-European goofiness.noleisthebest wrote:I read how Federer said winning Laver Cup is one of his best victories.
