Anything But Tennis
I understand the need to be careful about suspicious dangerous substances....but common....blocking the motorway 4 hours to realise that the smoke came from a fake cigarette?

We realy are wasting the police time and money! They should chase the bankers rather! That's where the smoking guns are!

Re: Anything But Tennis
he,he Tenez...I stopped worrying about the world long time ago...nearly lost my life once trying to change it (serious!)
Matt 8:22
But Jesus said unto him, follow me; and let the dead bury their dead.

Re: Anything But Tennis
That's one of the reasons I don't have TV licence any more.
that kind of stuff will only infuriate you, that's what it's meant to do. The whole purpose of media is to keep people in fear, if it's not bird flu it's pig flu, if it's not wars it's recession, if it's not recession it's terrorism etc, it does not end. The world has always been the same, we now just have the technology to broadcast it 24/7.
Same with politicians: if you look at every pre-election campaign in every country all over the world they have always ALL been promising the SAME things and failing to deliver...EVERY time.
It's much nicer chatting to tennis friends, instead

Re: Anything But Tennis
thanks T.
this is a very serious topic and can be viewed from only two perspectives: christian and worldly.
I hold the first one and am considered a fool. Majority hold the latter and live in daily fear.

Re: Anything But Tennis
Another angle on the world we live in:
"Viagogo said at one point tickets for Sunday's final were being offered for up to £15,000 each, although prices fluctuate constantly.
It said there was a 20% increase in searches on the site for finals tickets after Murray booked himself a place in the semi-finals, and predicted that prices could get as high as £45,000."
the price that people are prepared to pay to escape the hell of fear just for a few hours....

Re: Anything But Tennis
You can be a Christian and still live in fear. The Apocalypse predicted by John doesn't appear to me as a stroll in the park.
I was raised in the Christian church but I still feel accountable for some if not all what is happening in our world...though I agree I am also aware of the fact there is a "muppet" part in us all which takes some responsibility away.
If God himself can lead us into temptation, then he may have his share of responsibility.
Very interesting subject I agree.

I think those who can pay this kind of prices have no fear at all...their God is Money (in most cases) and in that Money they trust!
