Top 10/20 looking interesting!

2 Roger Federer SUI 9665
3 Andy Murray GBR 7840
4 Stan Wawrinka SUI 5790
5 Kei Nishikori JPN 5525
6 Tomas Berdych CZE 5140
7 David Ferrer ESP 4325
8 Milos Raonic CAN 3810
9 Marin Cilic CRO 3495
10 Rafael Nadal ESP 3000
11 Gilles Simon FRA 2765
12 Jo Wilfried Tsonga FRA 2475
13 Richard Gasquet FRA 2285
14 David Goffin BEL 2145
15 Kevin Anderson RSA 2090

17 Gael Monfils FRA 1930
18 Feliciano Lopez ESP 1800
19 John Isner USA 1685

It will be fun to watch the race for WTF...anyone remembers Murray's rush to get there last autumn?
he played about 5 weeks back to back to qualify!

No...I used to do them separately every week...now it will be one thread for them all (I'll just change the name of the tournament in the title) too much hassle to even find out what tournaments are played let alone players, schedule of play etc...was so easy to find on the old website.Tenez wrote:I thought that's what you did before?noleisthebest wrote:

Those threads weren't much commented on anyway...most people only follow big tournaments.
I hate "clouds", "kindle", "twitter" FB "friends", "likes"...this fake, non-existing world and vocabulary that is taking over the real one!Tenez wrote:

Somebody in IBM just landed the big contract and "improved" things.
Even the dates are now all backwards (month then day...)

Interesting to note that Agut beat Coric with ease yesterday 6:3 6:3...in front of his own crowd, which must've dented that over-inflated young ego
Also, Paire breezing through quality opposition.
I know he'll probably never win a slam or be number one, but it's great to see him playi well after a long trying result-less period following injury.

Didn't get to see any tennis today (except the end of Robredo-Zverev, who btw is worse than Coric), really happy for Paire and especially Thiem!
No easy feat beating Monfils these days...

Re: ATP 250/500 2015 (Vienna/Stockholm/Moscow)
We have three quite nice finals today:
Paire-Robredo
Thiem-Sousa
Mannarino-Tomic
So...only Paire and Mannarino with actual weapons here, their BHs.
Maybe Tomic and his FH if he bothered to move a bit...
Thiem's shots are on the verge of being called weapons, but they simply are not yet ...maybe if he took the ball earlier or moved quicker...much easier said than done, of course!
Robredo is elegant and has all the shots but they simply don't hurt.

Paire is the DBH version of Gasquet - he loves his BH to almost the complete exclusion if his FH.
If only he could fix his FH...he'd be deadly!
Even with it as it is, he's not afraid to go down the line.

And they are playing Plastic Bernard...oooooooh-ooooooh-ooooooh-oooooh!

Thiem looks horrible with this hair, as if he wasn't ugly enough already...
Plenty of awful, loud grunting & whacking the ball from both players, not the most engaging final.
Fans got the best entertainment when the camera showed Nole in the crowd

Thiem playing really well, absolutely steamrolling Sousa, very strong BH arm even in awkward positions, and he can also defend with it, great!
So, is Thiem Baby Fed or Baby Stan?

It's nice to see young players win titles, and how much it means to them.
First tone for Paire and the second for Thiem.
Paire was so excited he firgot to thank his coach (but managed to remember and ask for the "second" speech...
Thiem...just didn't want to let go of his trophy and pose with the big kitch cheque...but of course had to.
A nice evening of tennis...a contrast to this miserable rainy day

Yes, that would've been his first title, too...
Still, the "young" Tomic has amazing free power.
I watched a little bit last night and he is not even trying on his serve - yet booms them out at crazy speed, great talent.
Shame it's wasted on him.

Re: ATP 250/500 2015 (Vienna/Stockholm/Moscow)
Interesting quote from Paire regarding his pre post injury attitude to tennis:
"The most important thing then was to play. I don’t care if I play well or not, it’s important to get on court and win some matches. I see tennis differently now. I don’t care as much whether I am playing well or not so well. As long as I am on the court and trying to get the win." Â
Not quite sure what he means, though...

He is only interesting when thrashing or being thrashed...this in between is...Nadal's own veneer....just weird!

Great win for Pouille over Monaco (such an annoying player) in straight sets.Â
He's up to 73 in the world with his qf appearance and hopefully further!
Surprising win for Bedene (new Brit) over Agut in straights. He's at a career high 55 now!
Interesting to see Roddick is back at Atlanta in the doubles, partnering the soon to retire Mardy Fish. What a hero he is for coming back (fish) from all those heart operations!

Yes, I saw the score, really happy for Lucas!
We want him to be winning and gain confidence as he is a 100% attacking player.
As for Roddick & Fish, shame about Fish and his condition, he was a good player, but at least he's had a decent career with that heart of his, which is a miracle.
I only managed to see the match point of Fognini-Ramos just now, always a pleasure to watch fabulous Fabio on clay!
Hope Paire beats Robredo again later today.

I saw the first and 3rd set but didn't notice anything.
Paire is one of if not the fairest player on tour.
He was superior, made Robredo look like a really dull grinder, nearly lost, but kept his head in the match and won.
It was almost weird to see him celebrate in the end...he lost so many similar matches in the past.
Playing Pouille tomorrow. I want him to go all the way. Hopefully won't be too tired.

Some nice matches today, hope to catch a few games here and there...
Paire-Pouille (I hate to see either lose, but edge to Paire, simply because he plays so bravely)
Fognini-Britdene (Bedene reminds me a bit of Seppi...fits into bland British tennis scene nicely!)
Nadal-Cuevas (curious to see how Cuevas's BH will cope with Nadal't energy moonballs)
Seppi-Bolelli (one if those matches I could watch while waiting for a plane at the airport only...)

Wow!
Just saw the scores, Pouille demolished Paire!
Paire was probably quite tired, he looked under the weather against Robredo.
Well, great news for young Lucas!
A semi final of a 500 event, brilliant!

Lucas is playing well, but Fabio has too much guile for him.
You can see the difference in styles, Pouile just going for his groundstrokes, Fognini building points, creating, changing rhythm...
Nice match.
Btw, anyone noticed Fognini hasn't been in Nadal's half for a long time...has Nadal banned him like he did Bernardes?

Good match being played by Thiem-Goffin. Awesome ball striking. But both of them need to be bit better on shot-selection at times.

Re: ATP 250/500 2015 (Vienna/Stockholm/Moscow)
At times they go for really strange shots, shots one may not have for given the circumstances. Example: See the missed volley by Goffin on the 1-set set-point which was an easy put-away but I don't know what was he trying to do.noleisthebest wrote:raiders_of_the_lost_ark wrote:Good match being played by Thiem-Goffin. Awesome ball striking. But both of them need to be bit better on shot-selection at times.
what do you mean?
Other times, see the point they play to get broken, they attempt outrageous shots. Success of such shots is close to nil. How can one do that given the circumstance. See how Thiem got broken in 1st set after being 3*-2 up. Th point he played on the BP was ridiculous.
