Sure. But my point was that Fed needed a very easy win but taking all things into account that wasn't very likely, despite their h2h!luvsports! wrote:GP, this was the first time feds lost to robredo.

Fed's current game is very beatable. In fact his #7th ranking is also a bit high I think. He is playing someone who will be ranked say something like 18-25. Reaching QF on some odd occasions.

Re: US Open Round 4 (Day 8)- with Game Fixtures
I think we have to keep things in perspective. Converting 2 BPs out of 16 was really his main problem yesterday. Just convertint one of those 16 in that first set may have changed the momuntum completely.
So to me, at least on yesterday's performance which the only one I saw in full since Wimbledon, his main problem is confidence more than his game. It;s this lack of confidence which made him play the wrong shot way too often, a but like his pre-2003 time.
The other and more important issue is the fact he was not moving well in that 3d set....probably the reason why his serve was not great the whole match.
But again with a slightly more success on BPs he coudl have won that one in 3 convincingly. Something we should not forget to draw a fair and full assessment. Confidence must be pretty low....and understandably so.

It was on here. I said something about classic lydian tenez feuds and that I thought Lydian did a good post but there were some things I didn't agree with.

Lydian should join OTF and start learning from Tenez, just like you, Amri
But he is too vain to do it

Lydian has already learnt a lot from me. His only problem is Federer. He doesn;t like him and will do anything to belittle him.
It's so clear on all his posts...despite some effort to appear objective.

I don't know how anyone can call him/herself a tennis fan and not be mad about the guy!

Re: US Open Round 4 (Day 8)- with Game Fixtures
No problem belittling someone you don't like but unfortunately when trying to do this when addressing the best player ever you are likely to lose some credibility cause teh arguments are going to be scarce. Sure you can always criticise his attitude, his arrogance, or else...but trying to diminish the success of a player whose amazing record is based on genius will show some strong biais from the poster.Julia Santamaria wrote:Dis.Grace.Ful. When I belittle Nadal for instance, I don't say that he is physically crap and that his shots are feable. I say this is his main strength. Now try to have Lydian say that Federer's success is down to his talent and genius....and good luck.

Re: US Open Round 4 (Day 8)- with Game Fixtures
Since you have advertised v2 here Amri and LS, how about you advertise OTF over there, as well, it would be nice to see some old friends here again, I am pretty sure many of them don't now about us.
Just tell them Tenez and NITB (and rotla, GP and others) are having a lovely forum where there are a lot of interesting and challenging topics being discussed.
I am sure Julius would not mind and would not chop your heads off

Re: US Open Round 4 (Day 8)- with Game Fixtures
I would say no to having more posters but I have lost interest in talking about tennis. What some of us have been saying for years is now simply common knowledge. Time taking between, doping, strings, lighter racquest , playing better as one ages etc...are subjects down to death and clearly acknowledge by player and the tennis organisations.
Federer getting out of form we are left with a bit of commenting on some poor winning tennis such as those AO, FO, Wimbledon finals and I doubt the US one will be any better, the tennis is ugly but the drama might still be interesting. However we know the remaining players are not going to make it look easy.
