Nadal's game would not be that ugly if it wasn't for that lack of guts.

That is a quite difference when Nole serves well or not. But too many mistakes in his game and looks nervous.

Totally agree, ugly is not the proper word for his tennis, not sure if super can put it well as well

Don't know about you, but I'd be very nervous having to play a beast like Delpo....

Delpo is a beast but he is a gentle giant with guts. I prefer those than the blood suckers asphyxiating you slowly in the long run.

If Del Potro wins...then Murray becomes the favourite for the title
Djokovic has to win

Yes, ABM all the way!
Wobbly Murray and the entire LTA establishment looking like a waste of space in the Royal box.

I say that if Nole is not able to beat a tower as Delpo, then he is not good to play the final. That is clear.
The third set tells us more, Nole must be active on the court.
Nole does not believe for the winners, he stays too much on his heels.

Nole misses about 70% attempts for winners from the middle of backcourt. That is pretty poor, he is quite nervous.

No ones game is as ugly as Murray's
In fact i dont think there has ever been a player who makes tennis look as ugly as Murray does

Well not that impressed by Djoko actually....Except on the serve side....serving many more aces than Delpo.

Sadly...I'll have to root for Djoko now. Delpo is very close to that number 1 spot if he continues like that.
Whi did I argue Berdych v Delpo back then? Delpo is a completely different class than Berdych.

Re: Wimbledon 2013: Day 11 Men's SF
Of course. I actually truly believe that had he not had the wrist issue that sidelined him for more than a year, he'd have been number one earlier. Of course, he would have had to work on stuff like his stamina etc., but he is younger than the other ones at the top, so he can improve more, more easily. Plus, he has hardly entered his peak so he could still get there and be dominant, maybe alongside JJ. Then we'd really have a new era of tennis with those giantsTenez wrote:Sadly...I'll have to root for Djoko now. Delpo is very close to that number 1 spot if he continues like that.

Del Potro definitely looking like the player who won the U.s Open,he may still run away with it...he is making Djokovic earn every point

I am not sure I want to watch Murray's match with BBC showing these ultra slow-mo face close-ups.
That match should definitely have an 18 rating!

This has been a utter ugly match. almost every point ends in an error. Both players reluctant to make the first aggressive move ( especially Djokovic ).
Just playing rallys from baseline with big margins.

Re: Wimbledon 2013: Day 11 Men's SF
TBH, the Del Po I have been seeing so far this year (even though he will most likely lose this match now that he got broken in the 4th), does not have much to improve on except his health. His FH is almost back to the powerful one he had in 2009, his BH is not weak, his movement is not bad for a guy this tall. Maybe he can improve a bit on the movement towards the net and take less risks on his side movement but it seems minor and most likely due to the knee these days. IMHO, if he can improve his health, he is right there with the top.noleisthebest wrote:Sphair, what do you think Delpo can improve?
What I find is impressive so far this year is that he managed to almost win IW by beating in a row both Murray and Nole and lead by a set (and a break?) vs. Nadal in the final. Winning a master beating the three in a row would have been an unbelievable feat as there is no day rest! Also, let's not forget, even if he loses today, that he was basically absent from IW to Wimbledon and without much prep got to the SF without losing a set!

OUah!!! The tower is playing really gutsy.
The worst judgement I ever made tennis wise was to say that Delpo was weak mentally in his early years.

Really impressed with this Polish guy,saw him playing last week and he just murdered his opponent
Glad Novak came through but he could have closed that match out in the 4th set tie break when he was up a double break but stupidly decided to stop and challenge a call

Well, I' m obviously super happy for Nole, but also sad for Delpo who played his heart out.
A great fight from both players and a really well balanced and entertaining match.

I am quite surprised how JJ plays well. Really sizzling forehand to watch from him.
Murray's brain is switched off, he steadily plays into JJ forehand

The most visible improvement Murray did since Ivan started coaching him then it is ability to keep nerves under control. Ivan was quite good at it.

Love JJ's box's synchronised clapping
It's not on that Garner doesn't want to tell JJ when the roof is getting closed, I wonder if he'd be that aloof with Nadal.
