Re: Roland Garros - 2019
I always said Fed would hurt him.... In fact I'd be pretty confident he would beat Nadal if it was a first round instead of a semi.... The fact Fed should have 2 days before the semi should make it a closer match.bogbrush wrote:
It's be a free hit anyway, nobody will expect him to trouble Nadal but you can bet he will give it what he has, if he gets there.

What we need today is a quick 3 set from Fed, no dogfight, no 5h match.

But.. but.. womens tennis is just as good as mens and your comments mean you are an alt-right mysoginist Trumper!Tenez wrote:What a poor scheduling again... Both men's semi could be played at the same time. Do organisers realise no one cares about Konta and that they are putting on Lunglen first probably the best tennis combination ever.. Nishikori should start with a 3 game head start for making him play THREE DAYS on the trot. As always Nadal gets the favours

Fed should give up this to Stan with 6:2 and 6:2 and let Stan move on and sparehimself for grass.

Wait.. who let Federer & Stan start without telling me?
Just caught the stats which suggest Federer has let the 2nd set slip away from him when he had the chances. Is that how the match looks?

Watching on bet365 with no commentary, I can't see any umbrellas in the crowd, why is the match suspended?

It’s raining, lack of umbrellas is because french don’t mind getting wet.noleisthebest wrote:Watching on bet365 with no commentary, I can't see any umbrellas in the crowd, why is the match suspended?

OK, I can see the rain covers coming on.
They could've continued to play.
Some would call influencing the playing conditions cheating....

Have not been able to watch this live, will watch highlights and reach my conclusion. However Nadal has been playing very well, Nishi on poor form and tired, so scoreline not surprising.noleisthebest wrote:That one as well!DEC1M7 wrote:What about Fed vs Stan?noleisthebest wrote:All I can say is: what a match!

I dunno, I expected stronger resistance from Nishi. At least 3-4 games per set. He really is useless.

Fed has dropped only one set all tournament and now has 2 days rest.
He will be extremely dangerous in the semi.

Oh come on Amrit, a 38 year old fast court exponent is going to trouble Nadal on clay?
Federer is playing with house money here, I wouldn’t worry yourself.

Re: Roland Garros - 2019
Federer will shorten points, will visit the net a lot and if he can take nadal´s ball early, he will hurt rafa
but I only see roger winning if it is an astonishing performance and in no more than 3 sets
Roger would need a bad day from rafa too

But yeah you’re right, Nadal is big favourite.
Federer is playing well though, and the fact he avoided a 5th set along with the 2 day break will mean he’s fresh.
The good signs for Nadal are he’s playing aggressively, he has to dictate the rallies to do well against Roger.

Hoping for many rain delays for Nadal/Fed and for Djok to get through his matches quick
Federer won't win a set Amritia you should just say it, that's what you are thinking. I can read your mind

Josiah; it’s scheduled to rain tomorrow for those men’s QF, if that gets shifted to Thursday, it’s unlikely the Djokovic Thiem semi would be before Fedal.
My hope is somehow Djokovic Thiem semi gets rained off and they play on Sat.

Re: Roland Garros - 2019
My hope is that it rains from now to the end of the week. I always remember what happened to Nadal in that final when it began drizzling. He was desperate to get off, I doubt he’d have won another game against Djokovic that day when the damp killed his high bounce and he was left stark naked.

Re: Roland Garros - 2019
Fed must be super pleased that he's made the SF after an absence of 3 years. I guess he'll cope with having his tush handed him by his nemesis come Friday. I think it's the close losses that hurt most, and I doubt Friday will be one of those.
