Only good tickets which are for the lowest sector and these were offered for public only about 1500 for Czechs out of 4500. The full capacity of O2 Arena is 14 500 people. The rest have been handed out for ITF, Spain, Czech tennis association, players and VIP. These tickets could be bought on terminals three weeks ago from 1a.m. The tickets were sold only as a package for 3 days and the price for the good tickets was about 350€. I wanted to attend it but nearly no chance to get the good ones.
Nadal is not in Prague, he was not allowed to come due to a quarantine of morybundus

I must say I love Davis Cup atmosphere, all the tricks host try to get away with....remember when Serbia played Spain in Spain a couple of years ago, they built a totally new stadium in the middle of nowhere and it got blown away by wind, so the whole match had to be delayed by a day or two....and Serbia got thrashed.

you mean he saw that Rosol was going to be on the Czech bench so was worried he doesn't accidentally bump his knee in the changeover....

It's nice to see players play at or slightly above their A game. Amazing what confidence and inspiration can do

Can't remember if ever the same country held both at the same time.
The USA in 1990 if my memory serves me well.
Allez Berdych!
Thanks all for cheering, I think these Czech players would deserve to win it
We say Poď (like come on), the letter ď is quite something to spell in english. But close to djo, like Djoker

Berd plays really well now, close to his absolute best. He has improved his game this year and his mindset especially, looks focused and good-tempered on the court. His girl friend has a really positive impact on him, thanks to her . Ohh, Berd was broken

Berd lost his break up in the 4th. He really has to regain his focus and break ASAP to get the W in 4 sets and be more fresh the next day(s)...

I think it's just a temporary lapse, the match is firmly on his racquet now, unless he blows it collossally which I can't see him do at this stage of his career against a lower ranked player.

Murray also believes in Czechs win, not sure if he did not say due to Ivan I still have nightmares from USO final when I saw Ivan´s face, fortunately cameras do not look for him. Corretja will show a smile when he gets a silver medal for the runner-up

I certainly hope so. But I want him to win it without needing a fifth set!

I am quite cool with Berd, he plays with a great confidence, which can be deceptive sometimes. But he just must win

These three should attend a smilling course. I saw a psychotherapist on tv, who said that smiling in the very early morning about 5 minutes has a very healthy effect for the whole day. This TRIO Cacabus should give a try such a training

Berd won all three TB with Tipsy in Prague, in which all he was losing 3:5, now it looks even worse, so that is a challenge

Which makes it even worse for Berdych after all the Almagro bashing he made in press conferences, like boxers do, Almagro going the distance despite all the cheering against him is a win in my book, maybe not for DC if he loses in the end, but psychologically vs. Berdych!

I hope Berd wins, it would be devastating for him to lose this match.

It is pity of the ball at the net, such a space for a drop shot. He had blood eyes at the net. It is more difficult then all thought before

Absolutely, it is only way to get DC through this win. Not easy situation in the fifth for Berd

he could have even just flicked it over cross-court...so many players go crazy and blow a safe ball like that...he could be kicking himself later!paulcz wrote:noleisthebest wrote:sphairistike wrote:Bad TB so far from Berdych, I'm disappointed! :'(

Berd has definitely not made almost any advantage of the fast court. If anything, it makes him look slow.

I expected much louder crowds, for me it is quite disapointing. You know when the tickets are sold to tennis officers and VIP then the crowds look like when an orchestra playing.

French fans in Belgrade were really impressive, almost like a pro crowd! Although they were a minority, they made such a racket and various sounds deceiving and covering the sound of the ball a couple of times, it was amazing!

Almagro was more than 1m behind the BL, so a shorter cross would be absolutely a safe shot. When Berd is in a rush, he just bashes with closed eyes, that is still difference for him to get on the top. The positive thing is that he goes for it to the net, that is the correct way. Almagro still plays Spanish unbelievable tennis, morybundus spreads over Spain

Murray is even worse, he just pushes the ball back right onto your forehand

If it is the case with right handed then Andy is surely focused on Nadal, he just practices with RH before the big day

The break is finally here, now Berd should finish it.
I noticed that Almagro playes with Dunlop racket, which is similar to mine. Berd also played with Dunlop before he switched to Head.

Even if Berd takes the win after 4 hours, then the double and the match with Feru still to play and all during three days. Not easy for him

Almagro doesn't look too bothered to be two points from defeat. Seems like his main job is to tire Berd as much as possible.

Nobody expected he can win, therefore he played in calm. Berd mentions the net ball in the fourth set, which prolonged the match.
