Re: Men's semi final
If Anderson can play his best, he should win. I say 70-30 Anderson.
The other one I say 60-40 Rafa. Just because I do not know if Nole is ready to play at the top level.

Re: Men's semi final
Isner has to be favourite in his semifinal. Although they haven’t played for three years, he has won his previous 5 matches sgainst Anderson (having been 3-3 beforehand). Anderson failed to break the Isner serve in any of those 5 matches. Although he’s probably a better player now, I can’t see him breaking that trend on a grass court and so he’s probably reliant on tiebreaks, where Isner is usually far more clutch. I’m going for Isner in 4. I’d actually say it’s 70-30 in Isner’s favour.
The other match is much harder to call. Rafa and Novak haven’t met on grass for 7 years. Novak is the better player on grass but there are still huge question marks about his current level and how he will cope in what is likely to be a very intense match. I’d give Novak the slight edge still and will say he will win in 4. I’d only give him a 55-45 advantage though!

It would have been close, but now Nadal will be exhausted after his 5 hour match.

Re: Men's semi final
I knew someone would bring up Isner vs Anderson H2H. I just think that Anderson was a much weaker player then. Since then, he played a close 5-setter with Nole at Wimbledon, beat Andy at USO and now Fed.
On a separate note, I also hope he wins, because there is more to his game than to Isner's.

Isner returning like peak Agassi so far. Should have broken but Kev is doing well to hang on. Needs to weather this storm.

Isner with the mini break. Could be the classic case of a huge upset, followed by disappointing loss.

Re: Men's semi final
At this point it might be better if Isner wins. Kev cannot play back-to-back 5-setters and be in shape for the final.
Also, it is much quieter here than for the Kev vs Fed match. My guess is that Fed is more popular than Isner - at least on this forum.

Re: Men's semi final
This BS is typical.
I can only watch till 6. Was hoping that would allow me to watch a couple of sets of Nadal-Djokovic.
Instead I get the obligatory Isner marathon.
Neither of these two are gonna be any shape to challenge on Sunday. Anderson will be running on fumes and Isner can't run anyway. And he's got blisters

Re: Men's semi final
Why don't they just start the men's matches earlier.
This is now turning into a farce and means the final is a total walk over.

Djokovic is back to his best. Never thought it would happen. Has to keep this up now. Murray may be toast but this guy has some more slam in him.

same old shit... nadal is only able to win when he can keep ball in play. Cant wait til his legs give up. One dimensional one trick pony.

Re: Men's semi final
Nadal has lucked out to fuck to be a break up this set. He's basical;ly palmed balls back and hoped for best.
But it's all bluff. If Djok keeps his game up, Nadal's going home.

Re: Men's semi final
With Nadal still recovering from a 5 set match, and playing against Djoko under a roof, i started to wonder if Nadal finally ran out of luck. Silly me, i should have known the first semi would take 7 hours to help Nadal out of this bad situation.

Wow, that was tensed. I take my hat off for Nole for taking that TB. Amazing mental grit, like his good old days
But it's now even more lucky for Nadal. He surely was getting tired.

Re: Men's semi final
NAdal is so freaking cofident right now, there is no shot he hits with any tension. The third set Nadal had a slight upperhand: Nole seems one half step behind him throughout. No wonder MArian Vajda suggested Nole to move more foreward.Tenez wrote:Very tensed. More so that im just Watching the score on dead slow mobile.
I think Nole can dominate NAdal again. Winning one more set tomorrow will help him enormously because that the only thing that seperates them: Nadal has a little bit more confidence in his shots, for now. But hey, Nole is leading.

Ok, but Nole surely wants to play under the roof, and NAdal most definitly not.Jahu wrote:Castle said players can choose do they wanna play before ladies Final or not, and with the roof on or not, so up to players.
Wanna bet? The roof will be open

Re: Men's semi final
I did not see the match but was scoreboard watching. Just based on that, it felt the other way round. In the first set, it felt like Nole was winning his service games quite easily, while Rafa struggled in almost all of his. By the third set it looked like Rafa was holding quite easily. But I did not see any of it, so it could be that Rafa was showing signs of fatigue.gallery play wrote:Could be, but tonight Nadal certainly wouldn't have won 2 more sets. No way.
I will miss the rest of the match tomorrow too - will be on a plane flying back from my vacation. Please make sure Nole wins - I do not want to land and find out Rafa is in the final vs spent Anderson.

Re: Men's semi final
It's disgusting that Nadal is playing a clay game on a "grass" court and retrieving as he is. PAthetic organizers.
Glad Djok took set. Should be 3-0. Nadal is a boy.

Re: Men's semi final
Nadal indeed had a slight upperhand throughout the third set all the way to the last point. But one of his greatest strenghts is to increase the intensity at the most crucial parts of the match. If that happens to be not enough, the rebound will come twice as hard. Given the course of the QF's, a long rough semi always would have benefited Nole.summerblues wrote:I did not see the match but was scoreboard watching. Nadal can regroup now, which is why he's very lucky again. Team Nadal will put all modern science on Raf's @ss to get him in the right shape this afternoon.

Re: Men's semi final
Few observations.
Nadal seems to have the extra weight of shot. He seems to hit more winners.
Strange that Djoko seems to have more success in longer rallies.
Djoko doesn't seem to hit bhdtl v well anymore.

Yes, NAdal took a couple of times more than 35 secs between the points.. and this is only the first game.bogbrush wrote:Back to the old days. Endless delays of play. Djokovic aiming to run his legs off.
