Does anyone think Fed woudl have mentioned his injuries if he had won the tournament? That's why I am saying what I see....cause with Fed we only know after the event.

Glad he enjoyed watching Shap.
I hope he sorts homself out for USO and then has a nice number one off-season.
That would be ultra cool.
Despite current niggles he looks and sounds good.
Apart from when he is crazy about Nadal winning his RGs, I love his interviews.
He says a lot in every one of them.

I don't know. One thing I do know is, lets lynch the bastard! He's doing a Nadal clearly and this forum needs to lynch him for such excuse making!

No Shap as a WC which is sad.
Goffin/Kyrgios has the potential to be a belter in the first round of matches.
I think the forum should start a poll as to who the healthiest player is in the top 10!
Murray - Hip
Djokovic - Elbow
Stan - Knee
Nishikori - Wrist
Raonic - Wrist
Cillic - Unknown
Federer - Tiredness (j/k) Back
Seems Nadal, Zverev and Thiem the only players not carrying injuries that we are aware of.

You do realize you are making my point for me? Right? That's the main reason I don't like players doing what Federer has - and what fans did yesterday. Think about what you have just said and THINK about why that's a problem. He would only mention it when LOSING is the very worst kind of hypocrisy there is in sport.

Re: ATP Masters 1000: Cincinnati
I am so glad he withdrew. Clever cookie.
All his tennis was there in Montreal, so just a matter of good scheduling in NY.
Number 20 and a YE1 would be phenomenal.
I was just a bit worried as he looked really bad in those last few games yesterday. I'd never seen him give up in a match before.

Re: ATP Masters 1000: Cincinnati
Nole and Stan out for the season and Andy not looking much better. Now if Federer's injury also ends up bad, and if Rafa continues to struggle on hard courts in summer/fall, Zverev may indeed finish the year at #1.
Certainly, if he wins the USO and Fed/Rafa either go out early or do not play, then he will be very much in the running - perhaps even the favorite.
But of course, he has never been past Rd 4 of a slam.

Roger named his Slams (in a poetic manner supposedly) hence I think Richard is to be the name for the US Open trophy.

Well the worst kept secret is out and Fed has pulled out of Cinncy.
Just hope he can overcome the latest niggle in time for the USO.
Can't say I'll be tuning into Cinncy this week.

Next is Richard The Lionheart.
Would be so apt...esp as he gave up the fight vs Zverev on Sunday.
One last huraaah and flight into stardom, to leave this Earth and its mud.
The "beard" he was wearing in Montreal showed he was preparing for the battle, or more fasting in the wilderness prior to it.
I can't wait.

So can Gasquet for once beat Nadal when it matters. The only exciting bit of this Cincy will be on Nadal's matches...and in particular his possible loss.

No.
The only time Gasquet won a match when it mattered was Wimbledon 2015 SF, beating Stan in 5 sets.

Hehe, that's exactly what I was thinking today...what a super dull tournament, otherwise.
Imagine the new number one not winning the title in this competition!

Nishi oit for the resto of the season
Such a shame.
A great talent whose body could not cope with grueling fitness levels initially started by Nadal.
He should've never been allowed to.
Contrary to everyone here, I still think it was not worth it.

yep Jahu....even Zverev noticed something was wrong...so I guess he did have a word about it at the net. Imagine if you had a forum full of Daniels and SBs...completely blind to what's on the court!
But Fed, a married man and a father of 4 little children seems is not allowed to be tired by some here, at 36 and 2 slams under his belt this year...

Naaaah, he was just outplayed...like Federer the other day.
"Real men" don't run out of gas. They are big enough to admit better player won...they are not crybabies looking for excuses...
Daniel never does that...he only blames his opponents for being taller!

Ah, here we go... ad hominems out of nowhere from someone who clearly doesn't play tennis and never has. Never played doubles in league matches or even seen one. You really shouldn't even bother writing when you are so clueless. Also, in Singles, I win most of my matches as I keep telling you. In doubles, however, you are at a massive disadvantage (not just a significant one) against 6 feet 5 players (which the leagues are loaded with). Give up. Play the game instead of being an arm chair witch hunter. Haven't you got anything better to do than to call players dopers?
As for you Tenez... it seems you still haven't figured out that fitness is a part of tennis. And your opinion isn't fact. You're like a worn out record... All anyone hears out of you is demented excuse after demented excuse.
I am still not even sure if "..." isn't just a sock puppet of yours since he/she is hard to discern from where your rectum ends.

Re: ATP Masters 1000: Cincinnati
Kyrgios dominated Nadal today. 6:2 7:5 but really should have finished him earlier. Had two MPs at 15-40 with Rafa serving at 3:5, and one more on his own serve at 5:4, but he allowed Rafa to come back to 5:5.
Nadal's game is deflating like a balloon. He looked fantastic at the tail end of the clay court season, still looked ok though not great against Muller in Wimbledon and Shapovalov in Montreal, but he has looked very poor in both matches I saw him play this week - vs Gasquet and today.

Re: ATP Masters 1000: Cincinnati
Good to see Kyrgios hip injury getting better.
With Nadal on fast(ish) courts the match is won or lost before it starts. If he has confidence the can beat the guy, he will probably win, if he is scared of some shots, pacy ones essentially, he will lose his confidence quickly stand back and make his opponent look better than he is by allowing him to dictate.
That's why he had the upper edge versus Fed, he knew that by sending a ball to his BH, he will get that slow ball in return allowin him to stay in the rally and even dictate.
With Nadal it is all about pace, and in turn confidence (or lack of). The TDs have known that all along and this is why conds were slow down. To please those millions of fans.

So two new masters finalists, Dimi vs Kyrgios.
I don't really mind who wins this one, as I want both to kick on however I think NKR has more potential so I would prefer him to take it.

Kyrgios has far more balls, a much better serve, and a better potential. I expect him to win if he maintains a decent serve and doesn't get himself frustrated.
