i guess youd have to rely on every pr stunt/gimmick to divert the attention surrounding controversial TUE's and empty bluff threats to sue the former french sport minister away
the way the media are reacting youd think he actually forfeited the match and sacrificed himself in the process making his actions no less worthy of sainthood   

I know you are a Serena fan, Vee, but that's what I thought when I saw that link you posted about her yesterday...trying to change the "tuepic" and ignore the elephant in the room.

Nadal has now become a super gent and Serena a new Martin Luther. Amything is easier than telling the truth.

It's all amuzing at this stage...

I talked about TUEs in my club, in fact a guy brought it up (I gave up some time ago...) ...previously all my efforts to talk about doping were considered  as looney, but now people are startng to "see".

The guy is a RF fan, and in his newly converted militant state of mind even turned on him.

People are so easily manipulated it's scary.

But that's nothing new...

yes i do like serena a lot but i have to agree with you which is why i found it all so funny,how quiet she was about her TUE's but yet didnt hesitate to be vocal about another subject
while im sure the whole race thing is something she must feel very passionate about it can be viewed as a little too convenient that she opened up  to speak out about it when theres some controversy surrounding her

I know Nadal isn't everyone's cup of tea, however sometimes you have to give a little credit. Doesn't make you a fan by default, but a good act nonetheless is still a good act.

I still give an arsehole their due if they do something good.

I don't see it this as good or bad. ..just a natural reaction. I certainly do not see a calculated intent to gain on PR either.

The mother must have been mesmerised by Rafa's deadly looks not to notice her child disappear...

And what is Nadal doing playing McEnroe in the middle of ATP season, anyway!

exactly!! its a normal reaction that anyone whose concentration was distracted would have made.its no different then if a bird were to fly onto court and the players stopped and waited for it to fly away
so why the media are trying to portray it as some kind of heroic act and him as such a gentleman is beyond me,the only sense i can make of it is that they are trying to take some the heat off and controversy surrounding him away
the way everyone on social media are carrying on you would have thought that it was the second coming of christ!!

as for serena,well everyone knows what a big mouth she has so it is rather funny how the TUE scandal silenced her  (for a change)

how can a mother not keep an eye on her child,especially a child who is that young and what the hell was nadal doing playing MCenroe 

No I think it's very easy to lose sight of  a child. I think it has happened to all parents.

If not I might blame parents for suffocating their children.

thats precisely the reason why youd expect a parent of a child that age to be far more vigilant 
but thats not really the point here,the point is that all rafael nadal did was to stop playing,he didnt save a life,he didnt perform a miracle,he didnt donate half of his net worth to any cause or charity,all he did was stop playing..the way people on social media have been reacting,youd think he did all of the above!!

I think Vee, you are making as much fuss about it as the media!

as much as i hate the guy its good to see him give back to the sport

Do you think this academy is a charitable business? It;s his future money earner.
Nothing wrong with that but certainly not something I'd give him credit for...especially if part of the course is how to inject steroids safely away from WADA!

Nole "gave back to sport, too", , opened his academy in Belgrade, though he didn't invite Federer to the opening or make a spectacle of it.

i would like to give the academy the benefit of the doubt util it starts producing players you can be very suspicious of
this is a great thing he is doing for the game and i commend him for it, even if just 1 single talented kid makes it as a pro player then i would say its been a success cause its changed one persons life for the good
i dont think we should be critical cause at least he is trying and doing something,its certainly better then doing nothing
he could instead sit on his ass and do nothing for the game that made him millions like sampras 
so nadal is out for the rest of the season due to wrist injury again..maybe it was a genuine injury after all...
i would like to think that if he failed another dugs test then that information would be made public now..
so no nadal at the 02 then ...should be interesting to see who else makes it there

Yes, he has never been seen after that ceremony day. Don't know what he gave back to sport, but I know his Academy is charging around 800 euro a month for kids!!!

Btw, DJoko has cheated on around $30M on taxable income if he lived in Serbia, so giving back to tennis would be if he paid 5 coaches 350 euro a month average Belgrade salary, and let kids play and learn for free at his academy.

Djoko dodn't cheat any more than Fed, and all French players residing in Switzerland.
You should know that the rich "agree" tax there. Esp the Swiss.

Fed was born there and lives there, so he is not in exile.

Nadal has paid c.20M taxes in Spain, was some report last year.

French are not important.

No they don't agree the tax rate, just as to what will be taxed, local, global or a mix of income.
