He's a 'magician' who revealed the lottery balls after they were already released.

Sorry I am no magician...
I really only wanted to see who/if anyone else knew.
You'll just have to wait till the end of USO!
There are two very hot pieces of information and I am myself intrigued which (if any) comes to light at all.

lol you're holding out to see if either of them are true... making the rally longer to ensure you don't make an unforced errornoleisthebest wrote:

No...
I know one of them is definitely true, the other one not sure.
I just want to see if it is going to affect him in NY like it did in Wimbledon and Rio.
I hope not as I really don't want Murray to grab number one because of it.
That would be a disaster.

Re: USO: 2016
Not too sure Murray or Djok will win it. Raonic or Cilic could take the win. Looking at the draw:
Nadal has easiest section, but tougher half (so tough QF and semi if he gets that far)
Djokovic has a pretty decent section.
Del Potro has a nightmare.

i agree looking at djokovics current form..something is clearly up since his loss at wimbledonFedererKing wrote:Not too sure Murray or Djok will win it. Raonic or Cilic could take the win. Looking at the draw:

so i am expecting ( and hoping for ) a surprise winner, its about time for the next generation to step up and start dominating their own era..
it would be an absolute disaster if murray were to win

The fitter will win...that has been the case in the last 10 years in slams...except when it was Federer or Stan winning.
I have not seen a young player able to blast its way to 7 bo5 matches for a very long time. The last one who did it was Federer in 2003.....very different era now.

Re: USO: 2016
djokovic and murray not looking the fittest of late but that could change halfway through the tournament
there was some hope looking at raonic this past summer that big hitting could still beat the running game
he just lacked experience and confidence so it will be interesting to see how he fairs in this tournament

Re: USO: 2016
Murray is super-fit plus he has the easy draw.
But you never know...
Yesterday, Nadal moved very well, too.
I hope Dimi can do well, other than that who else is there fit and comfident enough to take them on once Nole bows out in the next few days?

Whoa. I'd put Delpo in there and take Stan out. Stan much fitter than Delpo when winning his Slams.

I thought Evans was good until I saw him play Fed this year.
Fed really made him look limited and average.
Also, Evans is not very tall, but certainly nicest game of all Brits.
Good on him to play with a SBH.

fed at his best can make anyone look limited and average
kyle edmond is also having a really good run at the open, but i expect isner to win that match pretty comfortably
its definitely the golden era of british tennis,a few years ago the british players were struggling to make it to the second round of a major
its just a pity that edmond or evans doesnt have murrays potential as they are just so much moe likeable then him

Agree. Federer is a bit of a harsh yardstick to measure someone by!
Evans last year way outside the top 100 and has shown with the right drive and determination and talent that you can make it. Such a shame he didn't have a better commitment to attitude. Good shotmaker.
I think if Edmund can work on consistency, he could really do well. Absolute hammer of a FH.
Such a shame that Robson doesn't have the attitude of Konta. What could've been had it not been for injury and frequent coach changes. Watson is garbage!

a couple of matches springs to mindTenez wrote:Never been so true than versus Murray, Nadal and Djoko.....regardless the surface.....unfortunately it usually lasts a set or 2 only.Veejay wrote:fed at his best can make anyone look limited and average
Nadal : RG 2011 feds last RG final,he was blowing nadal right off the court in the 1st set, nadal actually had to pull a dirty trick and abuse a medical time out to strap his foot so that he could upset feds serving rhythm.unfortunately it worked like a bomb and i think fed went on to loose the next 8 games.needless to say nadal went on to win and never needed another medical time out to strap his foot
djokovic: RG 2011 semi final...fed broke novaks incredible winning streak not having lost a match all season up to that point, easily the greatest tennis match ive ever witnessed on clay at RG
i think his semi final win over novak in 2009 looked pretty effortless with that winner between his legs which gave him match point for the final
murray: last years wimbledon semi final, murray simply stood no chance.the last match they played at the WTF where murray only won 1 game in the entire match..that was pretty humiliating
but i think the biggest spanking he has ever given anyone that could actually beat him on the biggest stages of the game was against del potro at the AO in 09,del potro caught completely off guard by an in form fed just toying around with drop shots
i dont even think the entire match lasted longer then 1h 30 mins

Re: USO: 2016
Yes that FO 11 but FO 2006 was even more convincing. 61 1/0 0/40 on Nadal's serve.
Also 63 60 in London in 2010. Nadal might lead the H2H but Fed leads the bagel H2H. 2 to 1....including one 60 on clay.
and a most impressive domination of Djoko happened in 2012 with Fed bagelling Djoko at Cinci.
While Murray got humiliated all along including some bagels recently.

Re: USO: 2016
yes that RG final in 06 was definitely bitter sweet,i really thought that he was going to win his maiden RG title
fed has had many many very convincing wins over players at cinci
thats more or less the speed many courts on tour used to play at before they slowed down
didnt he also bagel nadal at wimbledon in 2005 or was it 06,first set 6-0?

I saw some of that match, first two sets.
Enjoyed watching the young lion pup.
And his papa coach purring happily in the stands.
He has a lot: fantastic, flat, fast shots with excellent, easy, consistent depth, great serve, seems to have taken to volleying, too.
And most importantly - a nice, balanced temper.
I am so glad he won.
Big win for him.
His coach is guiding him thoughtfully. When I saw them in Boodles last summer, he was gentle with him, like a father with a aon.
As you say, give him a year or two...slightly lighter footspeed, more match experience...though he is already appearing to have all the shots, even using nice slices.
Look forward to his match with Nadal.

looking forward the pouille and edmond matches,i think that pouille can pull an upset but i think that edmonds great run will be ended by djokovic
dan evans nearly knocking stan wawrinka out, actually had a match point but lost the match...

Re: USO: 2016
We're finally seeing the change. The new breed are FINALLY coming through. Thank god that cheating disgusting fist pumper was beaten. Negative rubbish as usual. And in the end outdone on a relatively easy shot. The score line doesn't do justice to Pouille, who played a lot better than Pusher Nadal.
Great to see such a gutsy player.
Nadal broke the time rule relentlessly and was called out on it maybe once. Pathetic.

Re: USO: 2016
I m amazed Nadal played at that level that long. Frankly he is probably a bit less consistent but his shots are more aggressive than in the past.....so this explains that. As Wilander said he cant get away with this negative game like he did in the past....and Wilander knows about it as he was also blow out of court in the later part of his career.

Re: USO: 2016
Well let's be honest Nadal has never been able to maintain that level for just one season from start to finish,it's never been longer then 3-4 months set the most per season so that should explain why it seems like he's he's been around and so the top for so long
Thiem retires...how many is that in total this u.s open?

Well he is an amazing mover and worker, we'll have to give him that!
Add favourable draws, extra coats of paint, stem cell treatments, umpires of your choice...

He has a bit of everything. His FH is quite unique. NITB and I saw him play a set live versus Tomic at Wimbledon. His FH was actually more impressive than Tomic's.
His BH is deadly and volley excellent.
He is very complete. The mind was the question but he seems to have answered that recently.
To me he is a Nalby/Mecir type of player with a net game. So instead of killing himself rallying, he goes to the net asa he sees an opportunity.
He should be there or thereabout with the very top other youngsters. With confidence he is going to be hard to beat. Just this year he beat 6 top 10 players! So clearly he has the potential to be top 5...if not top top.

It doesn't count when she doesn't compete against the men. That would be absurd reasoning. She wouldn't even be a top 200 in the men's game.

it is an unfair comparison as a female players technically should be more likely to win more grand slam matches then male players
the fact that there arent more female players competing for this record just proves the state of the womans game cause apparently over all shes just ahead of federer
