nobody likes watching grinding Ferrer plays. Nole will be on top of him soon, dictating and playing shorter points. He needs his first serve back.

It seems the other way round at the stadium, hardly any support for Djoker.open - US OPEN 2012 MEN'S SEMI-FINAL - Page 6 2033450363

Seems like MTO time is coming. I am not wrong when I branded Djoker as Nadal version 2.

Nole did not win his 5 slams by "playing shorter points". Obviously, good for him, he figured out what it took to succeed and executed. But let's not kid ourselves about the style of game he plays.

Nole breaks again. A little wobblier this set but should be able to sail home from here.

It's not his fault he is having to play in the era of fitness Godzillas such as Nadal. You should be grateful he's got him out of picture and saved tennis

That's exactly we say but the criteria and parameters are different for Murray, why? I know you don't have guts to reply to me but I have unmasked you here, nitb.

Sb, I want Ferrer to tire Djoker more because we are going to witness another slugfest tomorrow and it will be advantage Murray if Djoker gets spent today.

LOL I know you do. For me it is a bit different. I do not have a strong preference between Andy and Nole, and I will be happy to have a match where they are both fit and ready to go. I will probably be rooting for Andy, but not to the point I would want him to play a tired Nole.

I think organisers have paid good money to Ferret to lose so they can sell the final as no one will watch Murray- Ferret final.

How lucky Djoker is!

why would you be rooting for gutless Murray who plays endless points and muscles and pushes the ball around with no grace?
Just curious?
I know some here root for Murray because it makes them feel English, what's our reason?

I too liked Djoko before but unnecessary criticism of Murray by few have forced me to think like this. My arguments are just counter arguments to prove that Djoker is no different than Murray.

That is a loaded question.

I guess I could root for Nole who plays endless points and pushes the ball around with no grace instead... smiley

As I say, it is pretty close for me. They both play similar style, I kind of like them both but I am not particlarly strong fan of either of them.

Nole played his average today, but it is still enough to go through Feru. To make it funny, if Feru had +10cm and stopped smoking, the difference is marginal. Feru did not play badly, he tried to get close to the base line and dictate rallies, but when they started to play angles his shorter hand was appeared. Higher Feru would also mean better serve. So, there is no space for smaller player nowadaysopen - US OPEN 2012 MEN'S SEMI-FINAL - Page 6 1564925666 Smoking makes people shorter open - US OPEN 2012 MEN'S SEMI-FINAL - Page 6 4006036031

Nole did not win his 5 slams by "playing shorter points". Obviously, good for him, he figured out what it took to succeed and executed. But let's not kid ourselves about the style of game he plays.
It's not his fault he is having to play in the era of fitness Godzillas such as Nadal. You should be grateful he's got him out of picture and saved tennis

By cloning and being better version of a mouse trap, the base is still a mouse trap. It is just a different name tag, and perhaps different allegiances and legions of fans.

If you like that, wonderful. Thumbs Up

The last time Federer played a 5+ hour match was in Rome 2006 on clay. We know AO 2012 very well, that too on HC. Winking

He played enough to get the job done easily. Very smart match from him.
Taller Ferru = Andy Murray open - US OPEN 2012 MEN'S SEMI-FINAL - Page 6 1071211947

Nole tried out some transitions to the net with volleys, played slices. When it did not work out well he came back to his patient game and it went in Nole´s favor. Andy would struggle with this Ferru, they would play another +2 hours.

I'm glad Nole did the job efficiently today and did not spend too much energy. He should be fully ready for a glorious trophy lift tomorrow open - US OPEN 2012 MEN'S SEMI-FINAL - Page 6 151447854

Just looking through this thread, and I have noticed huge double standards again:

That is a loaded question.

I guess I could root for Nole who plays endless points and pushes the ball around with no grace instead... open - US OPEN 2012 MEN'S SEMI-FINAL - Page 6 650269930

As I say, it is pretty close for me. They both play similar style, I kind of like them both but I am not particlarly strong fan of either of them.

Only to the untrained eye. Murray and Nole are two very different players.
This was interesting, NITB clearly hinting Summerblues has an 'untrained eye.'
Let's get this clear, Summerblues I believe is one of the best posters I have seen, in analysis and description. A better poster than me, I would say.
Now let's go back to Nadal's win over Djokovic in Rome. NITB said the tennis flag flies 'at half-mast' whenever Nadal wins, an interesting opinion.
Then when I questioned the premise of the article I was told that 'Nadal was rubbish' and if I did not accept that 'I was in denial.' When I asked NITB why she thought Nadal was 'rubbish' I got no answer.
Is this the type of eye Summerblues should try to gain? It is unfortunate SB does not have 2020 vision like some of us smiley

Perhaps we can analyse this interesting hypothesis. WOW has already expressed he feels there is double-standards here, and let me investigate this.

We are led to believe-
-Murray and Nadal plays 'pushing' 'endless' tennis.
-Djokovic meanwhile is meant to play 'attacking tennis' Yikes
This is simply a ridiculous statement that we are meant to accept.
Of course when Nadal and Murray do something, they should be slated' but when pointed out that Djokovic uses very similar tactics we are told Djokovic was somehow made to do it, and that nothing is his fault. Huge hypocrisy I'm afraid.

At least we have a choice to follow or not to follow this comical posts. The best joke was that USO organisers has conspired for djoker's loss. This forum is getting funnier day by day. open - US OPEN 2012 MEN'S SEMI-FINAL - Page 6 2211252749

Amrit who do you think will win tomorrow?

And I want to make everyone clear that I don't hate Djoker, my arguments were only to prove the hollowness of blinkered posters.
