I have no agenda. Let the best player on the day win and in a good match.

I clearly asked it earlier, and quote it again,

noleisthebest wrote:I look forward to hearing you say something good about Djokovic or Federer, rather than continually try to defend the honour of Anglo-saxon tennis. That's the players' job kind of thing.
Media only make it worse by shoving it down everyone's throat. Nobody's stupid.
I am not defending any one player. I argued, and am still arguing about Nadal and the doping innuendo that I see on OTF. I like both Federer and Djokovic as well as Nadal and Murray. Not a single player is perfect, and never will be. I accept all players with their humanity, just the way they are.
I like what each of them brings to the court. I have zero emotional attachement to any Scottish, Serbian, Swiss, Argentinian, Czech or Spanish player. For the record, I still would like Operacion Puerto be made public, in it's entirety. I also would like the French media to stand up for their reporting integrity and rely less on innuendo.
If you attach yourself to a single player, it becomes difficult to make sense of what one observes. May I suggest that you read HM Murdoch's thread on v2, if you feel so inclined.

I don't. I love tennis much more than some players' selfishness. No one is bigger than the sport.laverfan wrote:

When looked at from this angle, I am more with NITB. Certainly would not want to "accept all players, just the way they are". That is a dangerous proposition, pretty much invitation for all kinds of abuse.

Come on SB, you cannot be serious. NITB's logics are flawed, she castigates Murray for being anti tennis but cannot see the same for Djoker. One parameter for Murray and another for Djoker. She is blinkered and hypocrite and I can see that.

I was not addressing any of that. All I was referring to was the "accept all players just the way they are" statement.wow3 wrote:Come on SB, you cannot be serious. Good to see Ferrer win the first game. I could have so easily seen him coming here and letting the first set slip, which would have been pretty sad.

Sorry my bad English. Even I will disagree with that slightly but I strongly disgree on one rule for one another rule for someone else.

Ferrer in trouble right from the start here. Would not be surprised to see Nole take care of him quite quickly. Hope not.

Yeah, Djoker seems to be playing a very aggressive game here, chasing every ball down

They all have the ability to learn and play within established rules of the game. For example, I would suggest watching Murray's post-match interview, where he says that because of conditions, the 20 second rule could have been enforced, but was not.
I have no desire to impose my will on any player. The sport is bigger than one specific player. If Murray-Berdych can play in windy conditions, so can Djokovic-Ferrer.
Looking at this set, Ferrer hit 6+ shots to each corner, and guess who drew the error and got a break. Attrition tennis at it's best.

Re: US OPEN 2012 MEN'S SEMI-FINAL
So Murray is a pusher and what aout Djoker who has won all the points vritually gifted to him by Ferret. All he has to do is just to put the ball back in the play. Great tennis.

I agree with all that. It was literally that one statement about accepting players the way they are where I disagree.laverfan wrote:They all have the ability to learn and play within established rules of the game. Djoker's coach has surely discussed the plan overnight. We can clearly see as who got benefitted more out of this break so unfair on Ferret.

This is how a multiple slam winner plays tennis: with heart and fire, not pushing the ball about.

Pushing the ball with lungs and legs. Surely Djoker has taken his magic potion for today which is helping him to chase down all those balls.
Pathetic tennis,

Variety of styles. If this is the future of tennis, so be it. We, as spectators, have a choice.

This is even worse than WTA , no effort at all to win points just do splits and keep the ball in play.

He felt his chance but could not rely on his serve, which is a base of his game. His game was just broken up due to this. To play in such a windy conditions is likewise to play when raining. So, next time they wlll play with raincoats and we see a "sliding" show. That was not a good match.
This is what I was saying yesterday. Berdych having such a high throw made his serving particularly more difficult.

Another cracker of a joke. Now blame the organisers
I too have one joke to say. You play shite tennis and wins slams then one day another pusher comes in who plays shiter tennis than you and beats you in your own game (you=djoker, some one=Ferret).

nobody likes watching grinding Ferrer plays. Nole will be on top of him soon, dictating and playing shorter points. He needs his first serve back.summerblues wrote:Ferrer breaks back! Wow. Not my tpe of tennis these two are playying though
