He will. But against a wall it doesn't matter much what Fed shows up.

If he can keep serving like now, he surely can do it. Sampras won his last GS at USO just due to a great serve with Agassi, that would be a good parallel.

It's really great tennis there. proper shot making and not road running.

The best thing is a lot of players and would-be players out there will be seeing that the net game IS good to have in their arsenal. They've been watching too much Nadal Djok Murray and thinking that's how you HAVE to play.

Fed could've had two breaks in this set, still a much easier 1set than in WTF last year.

Last post before i call it a day: i'm indeed a bit pessimistic about Fed's chances against Djoko in a Bo5 but the good part is: the very game that clicks so well for Fed these days is the very game that takes away Djoko's main weapons (long exchanges and a lot of running).
The main question is: will Fed get to the net against Djoko?

Anyway: first 2 more sets to win tonight. I think he'll do it.

Weather forecast for Sunday is not too bad.  I think they will likely play on Sunday.

Weather forecast is completely and totally inaccurate 2 days in advance. It's really only useful for 24 hours and even there it's wrong a lot.

Fed breaks. He's playing so damn well. Best i've seen him play for a long time (though serving wise SF against murray). He's playing rock solid and the game plan is perfect.

Fed is going to také it. Stan lost his patience and goes erratic. We are going to have another classic NOFE on Sunday.

Federer is playing a brilliant game here. His serve is solid, his overhead smashes perfect. Net game spot on. Forehand is working. Even backhand is more consistent than usual. Wawrinka is out of ideas.

Yes he makes us believe he can do on Sunday.....But I remember Wimbledon final.

Q. What were your thoughts about your physical condition before the match, and what do you think you would be able to accomplish by playing?

MARIN CILIC: Well, I knew that, you know, I'm not 100%, obviously. And even the last match against Jo I wasn't feeling 100%. You know, the foot was causing me obviously some trouble with the movement, but, you know, Novak was able to expose me much more today. Even coming before the match and thinking, you know, if I'm going to play or not, I decide to play, as it's a Grand Slam tournament, it's deep in the tournament. You know, I decide to go on the court and give my best. You know, if it would be some other tournament, doesn't matter which one, I would probably pull out and not, you know, get myself in the position to aggravate it much more. But also, you know, today, even though with the foot, it was -- even though it was causing me trouble, I didn't play so well today. You know, a lot of mishits and a lot of missed balls that, you know, I shouldn't have missed in some situations. But that was in my head already from the beginning and the score went in that way. The score was going pretty quickly in the beginning, so, you know, it didn't give me time to get in the match.

MARIN CILIC: Yeah, I twisted the ankle. It was pretty swollen a few days ago. Still is. But hopefully it won't take too long to be 100%.

ROGER FEDERER: ....it's important to serve the right way at the right time. You know, it's really important that you back yourself with your own serve at the most important moments. Like down Love-40 bring the serve into the box, number one; bring it close to the line, because close to the line also means that sometimes the opponent sort of waits for it to go out and then it's already past you.

So I believe a lot in serving very accurately, and I could do that over a long period of time, which has helped me over my career.

I had some rose to celebrate Vinci's win and it completely knocked me off
