Could be anything but match fixing. More likely to be the result from a frustration from either the crowd or referee...or even his opponent.

Kyrgios had a similar game in his loss to Gasquet.

I once got frustrated by my doubles' partner who called my serve out (although ti was in, and the team we were playing said it was in)....

So I had to replay the point...and tanked the next two games.

I hate tanking.

I would be interested to see it in the context of what had happened leading up to that point.   Won the 1st set 6-1 and not so far out of the 2nd that you would think he would be giving up.

I worked in a sport where match fixing or taking a dive was rampant and these guys would do their best to make it look natural.  To just blatantly give up would lead to no one wanting them anywhere near another fight. Gamblers wouldn't trust that fighter at all.   So I doubt this is match fixing.

Most likely just got pissy and took a break by going through the motions, which is pathetic really.

The only case where it would be match fixing would be that Paire had been threatened by the Russian mafia and wanted to show he was effectively fixing the score to get help from the LTA and the police....so in other words...no it's not match fixing.
