Take a look a the serve stats, that tells a lot.
Nadal is hardly missing first serves.

I haven't seen Nadal since Barcelona, but he's now physically 10 times stronger. You can not only tell by looking at the stats this week but also how he walks between the points.

Well it's about being stiff at the beginning and then loosening as the body warms up...very similar to Hamburg 2008 v Fed in the final after his tough match v Djoko in the semi...same for Madrid 2009 final...though Federer closed the match just in time that day!

Nadal's physical transformation between the first and second set is staggering!

I hope Murray's back holds, he's expanded quite a lot of energy in the 2nd set.
He needs to win a couple of really long points if he can, that usually demoralises Nadal like nothing else!

the good news is: it's still a long way for him to win here in Rome. The bad news is: he'll most likely be unbeatable at RG.

Meanwhile: Murray scores a Federer-esque point, nice

I think he will lose too much energy on his way to the finals....I don't see him winning as clear cut plus lots of pressure!

Problem is: There are no players who'll enter the final fresh. Djoko is wasting also too much energy nowadays

This match's turning out to be exactly as I was hoping for. Murray's got to nail Nadal down.
It's not going to make a huge difference if he does not win Rome going to RG, but it's got to pile on a little bit of extra pressure.
Only a proper beating from Nole here could make any difference...maybe...

I always support the opposition against Murray, except when he plays Nadal, and only then I usually see how well he can play.

I enjoyed the first set, it was the old Murray, but it was so effective.

2nd and 3rd set it's the Lendl-ed Murray. A flattish hitting FH  bicep, watch out!

Murray showed again how difficult it is to beat Nadal by blasting him off the court. He needs to construct teh point but that is physically too tough for this Muuray.
