Madrid Draw Out Empty Madrid Draw Out

Post by truffin1 Fri May 02, 2014 8:10 pm

Looks like Djokovic once again got a tough draw, Federer tough throughout though I think he's more likely to face Almagro/Tsonga than Murray in the Quarters , Nadal and Stan easy early rounds.   I guess if Nadal gets past Berdych, he's feel good about chances going to the finals.

Quarters":

Madrid draw: Nadal/Berdych, Federer/Murray, Wawrinka/Raonic, Ferrer/Djokovic potential quarters.

Semis- Nadal/Federer  and Wawrinka/Djoko

Perfect draw for Nadal to regain confidence...   Then again, who would have thought he would go out in Barcelona...

Is the link out yet?
Early rounds could be crucial in Madrid.

Fed played really well against Nole in MC. If fresh, he could take Nadal on. He beat him there a few years ago.
That's Nadal's least successful clay tournament because of the altitude.

I will always suspect Madrid to rig their draw in favour of their boy....No proof of course but strongly suspect.

Nadal wants a revenge on Stan...and he will get it....watch those BH shanks ROTLA! Winking

After looking at the draw Nadal has it easy but he has not Stan on his side...but Federer. I think Nadal has it quite easy. Either Berdych or Dimi could trouble him before the semi....but I doubt they will.

I fancy Federer creating the upset there if he is on form.

If Nadal fails to win Rome or Madrid, what are the chances of him not turning up in RG?

Why do you think he would not turn up if so?

Pride.
I think he'd rather not turn up "with dignity" than lose and have to live with it.
Just imagine how vulnerable he'd feel there with no title on clay to his name. All the pressure to win it, he'd crack under it.
An injury is always an "honourable" option...

What do you think?

I've just realised Stan was the finalist here last year, so could lose his number 3 spot to Federer.

If Stan reaches that far i.e. the finals, his BH would already have done enough damage in the tournament. Still since you said it, I'll watch it  Hug
