What a line-up for the final, who would have guessed at the beginning: no Sharapova, no Azarenka...
So I am happy because if that - a grunt and screaming free final after a long time!

Don't particularly like either of players as they both really bash the ball hard, but that's the name of the game these days...

I know tha Cubulkiva is an enormous choker, andd remember she once lost a match from veing 6:0 5:1 up and serving for it!
Li is not much better, so it will be interesting.
Li said in an interview that Eodrigues has been trying to unglue her game from the baseline, in Li's words " 100 years long  rallies", but I haven't seen her play I think since last year's final, so that would be interesting.
Cibulkova will be blasting her flat bombs and painting the lines.

I have no preference, just hope both manage to get the best out of their games and nobody chokes!

I was going to change my mind but after reading you I might not. I have never seen Cib play...

I read a great line describing today's women's tennis the other day, it went like this:

Li is a nice lady - human, down to earth, good-natured and most importantly for tennis - a fair player!

And anyway, I retired from the game a few rounds ago, so you'll be fine

I think women should play best of 5 in slam finals.
A lot of them need plenty of time for the hormones to settle down...

I have had terrible results in that game....but it doesn't quite hurt!  

Excellent 1st set to be crowned with the TB drama!

Funny how the tour completely goes chaotic between now and clay season... IW and Miami look a bit pointless AFTER AO.

In the end, two lovely speeches, Cibi who didn't fight tears (and neither were the rest of us, incl the chubby guy standing next to the TD) and managed to smile and talk through them, followed by Li (still don't know what's her name and what's her surname) and the trademark sense of no-nonsense humour involving her "lucky to have her" husband, thanking the manager for making her rich...
All in all, a nice final.

Li wins           . Fantastic play. She hits hard and flat.

She is a likable player both on and off court.

Agree! Glad she won and I lost!

That was a really nice finale for the woman's event. One of the happiest I've seen.
A runner up on numerous occasions finally winning the title, against a first time slam finalist just happy to be there.
Reminds me of Federer Soderling at the French 2009. Smiles all around.

Also, while I'm at it, I really miss Soderling  Saw him play a couple of times, and loved his forehand.

Really weird his disappearance while at the top of his game!
