Re: Who are you? Introduce yourself here.
I've been good, thank you. All the better seeing as Nole seems to working his way back to top form!
He's cut a frustrated figure the last few weeks, so it's such a relief to see him starting to play near his best again.

A 2nd USO would be a lovely way to mark a return to form....!

Thanks Tenez. From what I can gather, you were involved in the getting this forum set up? If so, great work, I'm really impressed!

Re: Who are you? Introduce yourself here.
It's actually pretty easy. I got kicked of so many forums for dubious reasons (essentially my describing of Nadal's game) so I thought I'd have one myself to prevent being kicked again.
We had a good bunch of posters on v2 and I thought it was a bit stupid to split it as they did. Anyway...that's history, let's commentate on the current and future matches.

Re: Who are you? Introduce yourself here.
Well, I think we should assume that Fed is the opponent! Stan's record v Roger is rather one-sided.noleisthebest wrote:HM Murdoch wrote:Clever people!
HM,
what are your thoughts on tomorrow's final?
I haven't seen Fed at Cincy yet, what has his form been like?
If Novak plays with the confidence he's shown since Canada, I think he is the slight favourite. In his recent matches v the other big guys (Rafa at RG, Fed at Wimbledon, Andy at Olympics) he has seemed nervous in the big moments, so my main concern is that that doesn't happen this time.
How do you see it?

Re: Who are you? Introduce yourself here.
Tomorrow final will show us how look the biggest favourites for USO and that is what I am looking forward very much. Nole should be very motivated after Wimby and looks to be ready for the final and go for his the first title in Cincy. On the other side will stand Fed who seems to be quite relaxed these days. Crucial thing will be the serve or Fed´s back restraint. If Nole plays patiently into Fed backhand then lower bouncing on faster surface should make him easier life on the court. I feel that Nole´s time is coming back again

yes, Nole for some reason doesn't use that tactics as much as he could and should. He considers it below him. But he has improved in that area and I expect a bit of it tomorrow as well.
Nitb, I think that is not as clear. If Nole feels comfortable on returning Fed´s chops then he should have played more to his BH. But Fed´s chops are pretty poisoned and it is difficult to time them with BH and you need to get lower on legs. For left handed which play these by FH as Nadal is much easier. I know when playing on faster surface when bouncing is lower Fed will come to the balls a little bit later, which could affect his chops as not that sharp. If that happens then ceirtainly his one handed BH lifts are Fed´s weakness.

Oh, that looks pretty challenging for tomorrow. But Nole BH is another level from the others. Fed looks like he become younger without his fellow Nadal

That will surely be a prerequisition to succeed. Best returning and force Fed to run, i.e. not allow him to have time for strike timing, especially push on his BH. It is a pity that I will not see it

Though Cincy is fast, it's pretty high bouncing this year....and that favours Nole more than fed.
Shoudl we carry on this discussion in the relevant thread?
