Cilic fails blood test
According to my same sources who reported Troicki yesterday... apparently Cilic has now also failed a blood test.
However no one in the media is currently reporting it, so we'll see if it turns out to be true.

For some reason absolutely no news outlet are reporting this though, maybe my source was mistaken this time.

Maybe my source was correct, he has some contacts quite high up in the ITF and has been right before, let's have some patience.noleisthebest wrote:Can you delete the thread please.

Delete it just like you did the one earlier today telling us that royal baby is black.

Re: Cilic fails blood test
If this story turns out to be BS, I am happy to take the flak- even I have said I am not 100% sure and none of the news outlets are reporting it.
However I will keep it on as the source who told me is normally quite reliable and has contacts quite high up the ITF as I said earlier.

He was right yesterday about Troicki, before anyone mainstream reported it, who's to say not again today?

Re: Cilic fails blood test
The thing I don't eat is that Cilic FAILS a blood test and is not suspended at all, whereas Troicki does not provide a sample and gets given the strictest penalty.
At least ITF seem to be consistent with those that fail tests....

No according to my source he has been suspended, until Montreal. More details to come though obviously.

Re: Cilic fails blood test
I just read that Cilic found out he tested positive during Wimbledon which is why he gave De Schepper w/o in the 2nd round citing knee pain....( deja vu, anone?)
Apparently he has been given only 3 month suspension!!!

Why 3 months when Troicki got 18?

My source didn't pick up the phone but I'm hearing rumours it was a lenient punishment as Cilic had a glucose deficiency of some sort and co-operated with the ITF.

The same source who told me yesterday that Troicki had missed a drugs test... before the mainsteam media found out, and told me today that Cilic had failed a drugs test... hours before even non-mainstream news outlets reported it and even now BBC etc. are not reporting it; he has told me specifically that Nadal was never got caught doping by the ITF, and has never been handed a ban of any sort.

Lance Armstrong never failed a test either....

I am just relaying the information I have, of course I am not saying that any player is definitely doping/ not doping.noleisthebest wrote:Julia Santamaria wrote:The same source who told me yesterday that Troicki had missed a drugs test... before the mainsteam media found out, and told me today that Cilic had failed a drugs test... hours before even non-mainstream news outlets reported it and even now BBC etc. are not reporting it; he has told me specifically that Nadal was never got caught doping by the ITF, and has never been handed a ban of any sort.

Although you are right that just because someone is not caught by the ITF it does not necessarily mean they are not doping... nor does it necessarily mean they are doping.

Re: Cilic fails blood test
Cilic has been banned for one year I'm hearing, due to too much glucose in his blood during a random blood test in March.
The ITF may release a statement quite soon, although I can't confirm that as certain.

Dopes are useless....if they can't make a Cilic look half as fit as clean Nadal, what's the point of doping?

That aside, at the time, from memory, Julia started displaying signs of hyperactivity, creating ridiculous threads and spamming the forum. One of the threads in this, tennis section, featured the announcement that the royal baby was black ( that's before little prince George was born). Julia thankfully deleted that thread on his/her own accord fairly quickly though...I didn't really know what was coming next....
You were all away on your holidays, so I was left defending the borders of sanity here, trying my best...

Re: Cilic fails blood test
Not true at all I totally deny these allegations.
Apart from the royal baby is black thing. That was a joke, from Sky News- infact it got quite a lot of publicity and even 1 million + views on Utube (but I think it's been taken down now).
Basically when Kay Burley (Sky news presenter) started reporting the fact the royal baby had been born, she asked some people in the crowd. One of them men said 'It's shocking.' She said 'What's shocking?' He replied 'I've just got news saying that the Royal Baby is Black.'
There was an awkward silence for a few seconds and Burley's face went red- priceless and an internet sensation.
So no, I didn't just go crazy lol. And PS I posted it on the Everything Else section, not on the tennis section, get your fachts right

And why do you say 'many threads' 'one of the threads' etc. when I just posted one thread which contained a joke from Sky News which you don't understand.
That's just one thread and not even on this section, not sure how that constitutes 'many threads' suddenly

Re: Cilic fails blood test
Cilic has appealed to the ITF, and within a next few days a decision will be reached.
As per the ITF rules; if his appeal is unsuccessful the ITF will publicise his case and decide the length of ban, if he is found not guilty then he will be let back on the tour with immediate effect.
This makes sense- as the gap between a decision and an appeal is normally around 3-5 months. Given the test results were from March/ April, the timeline does indeed make sense (ie having the appeal in early September).

My sources were right, a decision has indeed been reached.
He has been banned for 9 months, which backdates, so he will be allowed to return in February 2014.

Re: Cilic fails blood test
From tennis.com, silent ban debunked once and for all...and Pandora's box opened in style!
Now.... who else is it that has this mysterious injury that comes and goes around Wimbledon....
"A tennis tribunal said Marin Cilic hid behind the excuse of a knee injury to withdraw from Wimbledon this year to avoid negative publicity after failing a doping test.
The Croatian player was suspended for nine months last week by the International Tennis Federation after testing positive for a banned stimulant at a tournament in Munich in May.
The ITF's anti-doping tribunal released its findings of the case on Tuesday, saying Cilic pulled out of Wimbledon before his second-round match against Kenny de Schepper on the same day he accepted a provisional doping suspension and waived his right to testing of his backup `B' sample.
The statement says Cilic "withdrew from Wimbledon, citing a knee injury to avoid adverse publicity.''
The ITF has accepted the player's contention that he ingested the stimulant inadvertently in a glucose tablet and wasn't trying to cheat."
http://www.tennis.com/pro-game/2013/09/cilic-cited-injury-hide-failed-drug-test/49263/#.UkHC3GQqy04
....and a bit more:
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-09-24/private-doping-probes-seen-hurting-tennis-as-cilic-feigns-injury.html
I say good on Croatian newspaper Jutarnji List to have published Cilic tested positive immediately, if it wasn't for them, we would have probably not known much, just like it seems to have been the case with Nadal. Which puts Spain and their Fuentes case into a despicable, lowest of the low bunch of corrupt scumbags....

Re: Cilic fails blood test
Nope, as I explained this was not an unofficial silent ban, the situation is by the ITF rules.
The ITF only declares it publicly after a tribunal (if it goes to that), before that a player is allowed to do what he likes. However after the tribunal, the ITF by their rules release a statement.
This is exactly what happened here, the official rules have been followed to the dot.
