Olympic Wimbledon, Hit or Miss?
Just second day into it, Olympic tennis event at Wimbledon is proving to be quite a different affair from its Slam Edition.
Apart from the obvious: colour scheme shift from green to hot pink and players wearing non-white gear, here's what caught my eye:

Apart from the obvious: colour scheme shift from green to hot pink and players wearing non-white gear, here's what caught my eye:
- grass very slippery, resulting in many falls. Nobody injured so far
- crowd very loud and definitely non-tennis at that. People moving in and out throughout the points, babies crying during points, lot of noise in general. You can see that some people got the tickets and are clearly there just because it's Olympics, not because they follow/like tennis. Shame.
- lots of empty seats. A big worry. Somebody somewhere should know the answer to my next question: why?
- grass on Centre Court mid through day 2 ALREADY BALD worse than at the end of the 2 week slam version Wimbledon. Why? I shudder to think what it's going to look like next Sunday.
- Poor scheduling. Number two seed playing on court one.
- The atmosphere: loud and cheerful, very different from "normal" Wimbledon. A nice change.

Re: Olympic Wimbledon, Hit or Miss?
Im not enjoying it as much as I thought I would, for much of the same reasons
Its doesnt even feel like the Olympics let alone pro tennis tournament. With Beijing it had a similar feel to the WTF at the 02,this tournament isn't looking serious enough to take it seriously
What is upsetting me the most is seeing so many empty seats...I would love to have a ticket to see a match, what a waste!!
I find the purple/pink so tacky,it looks so cheap and those olympics signs on the nets which keeps falling off is embarrassing
Also the Olympics sign flashing on t.v with that weird noise after every single point is very annoying

I'd go there if I were you Veejay, I'm sure you could get a ticket there somehow esp during the week. Worth a try if you've got the time.

Im just watching the other events like gymnastics and the diving and swimming and it looks like those venues are jam packed,so why is Wimbledon so empty?

I'm not getting much to see the matches at all. My TV looks like won't broadcast any tennis matches and streams on internet are too few and not good.

Yes nitb, I tried sportlemon. BBC streaming comes at times. sky sports is mostly which isn't the best.
Tsonga-Raonic looking to play a marathon. Whoever wins, will probably lose the next one.
