AUSTRALIAN OPEN 2022
lets get over the Novak soap opera
First quarter: Sonego, Monfils, Garin, Carreño, Alcaraz, Berretini...
Second quarter: Zverev, Opelka, Shapovalov, Karatsev, Khachanov, Nadal
Third quarter: De minaur, Murray, Sinner, Bautista, Fritz, Dimitrov, Tsitsipas
fourth quarter: Rublev, Cilic, Aliassime, Schwartzman, Kyrgios, Medvedev
Nadal might have Khachanov - Karatsev - Zverev if he wants to get to the semis, then semis could be a little easier than quarters... but A more than possible Medvedev in the final would be too mmuch for him after that path. Actually I dont think he can get past Zverev. BUt I do have some little hopes deep down.
Good option for Berretini and Tsitsipas to get far.
I expect a Zverev - Medvedev final

Kyrgios out in second round. Too much hype over a Guy Whos longest run in a SLAM is quarters and that was almost 7 years ago

What you mean hype? After Fed, he is the second best raw talent in tennis the world has ever seen.
He provided superb play, tricks and daring & silly stuff we all love to see him do naturally, no one cares for 56 shot rally any more, that's last decade.

Raducanu out with blisters blla blla.
She has racked in 11M quid in sponsorships within 3 months of wining USO, including BA, Evian, Dior, Tiffany's. Before USO she had 100k from Nike + 100K from Wilson annually, so obviously time for some fun, travel, photo ops.
There's too much money in Tennis ruining the lives of these 1 slam wonders, expressly after they win a few millions, i.e Ostapenko, SloaneS, etc.

Re: AUSTRALIAN OPEN 2022
Well when he beat Nadal in wimbledon 2014 I thought he was the Next Big thing... Clearly he wasnt, but still I would have expected him to do more than what he is actually doing.
Not everybody wins a SLAM, that is true, but 2 times quarterfinalist in 9 years is pretty mediocre for such a "talent"

True, though Cilic got to be the in top 3 of players to pull the trigger so early, no rallying, no crap, hit the winner immediately, top play today.
Osaka gone home, guess loaded with money, a toy boy fucker and minority rights, are making her question her motivation for tennis.

Felt bad for Dan, totally lost it today, even Andy in the seats supporting him, Felix just too good.
Tsi got coaching warning again, he got to be the slimiest rule-breaking daddy-boy player on tour, he will never win a GS.

Oh he’s a nightmare on the right day but I though Rublev had so little in his game to change it. Hit harder seemed to be the option.Jahu wrote:bogbrush wrote:Rublev is so limited. Being outclassed by Cilic.

One wrong already.
I think shapovalov is easier on paper for Nadal. But this is not top Nadal. So it is not done at all.

Shapo played well.
Zverev has done his life achievement, left Djoko without Olympic medal, will win a GS someday, maybe Stan style quite late.
Suprisingly good match Monf-Kec who was has a much more appealing game than his tax cheat friend Djoko.

Zverev was terrible. But disppointed by Shapo too. Way too many UEs and DFs. He will have to up his game v Nadal.
He of course has the game to beat Nadal easily but will he have the nerves? ...Shapo main weakness.

Shapo changed his racket starting with Team Cup, VCore95 to Ezone98. Shanking a bit but more consistent overall it seems, less wild shots.

Cressy reminds me how boring was tenis in the 90s
its nice to see serve and volley from time to time, but when its all serve and volley, its simply boring
today it was nice to see Medvedev trying to solve the sudoku

Btw Tenez, Craig Tiley admitted that for AO Final 2018, Federer asked for the roof to be closed due to heat, and AO listened (which is not normal procedure).
Presumably to avoid the exact fate Nadal just had- a 35 year old in sweltering conditions is a recipe for disaster.

I would love so much to Rafa win this one... but I can only see him losing against Berrettini or Medvedev in the best scenario... I just cant see him winning, but I suppose thats just the fear of the fan
he is old, and the other day it was obvious he didnt have energy left... one of his best weapons is no longer there.
Lets hope he can find a great day in semis, in order not to have a very long match.

Anyone except Medvedev and Djocovid gets my support.
Guess Tenez being a secret Djoko fan and in not wanting Nadal to overtake Fed, would support anyone but Nadal to win this AO
All 3 staying on 20GS, 99.9%!
Now the brits should obviously ban Djoko from playin in W, makeup whatever shit, ban him for being too dumb and arrest him at LCY and straight to HMP Belmarsh
