WTF Moving Out of London after 2020
However much I have enjoyed going there every year (except the last) since it started in 2009, I am glad WTF is moving out of London.
It's been a beautiful venue with a wonderful crowd, accessible and all that....but, in hindsight it was a rip-off as you could only really see one match for one ticket which in my case had to be the best ones as otherwise it was a waste of time.
And that got super bad with the useless players such as Cilic, Thiem, Sock, Busta, Raonic...dear me!!! Do you remember those super short blow-out matches in the last two years?
The best was the golden era 2009-13 when we had Nole, Fed, Rafa, Andy, Tsonga, Ferrer, Berd...however much we laughed at the latter two....
So I say, the organisers were greedy.
I will remember the beautiful blue arena, the darkened out crowd, the heartbeat as the players walked on court...which never failed to make me feel the lump in my throat.
I will remember how I fell in love and under the spell of Federer's backhand in 2009...of my super crazy cheering of Nole which drove a couple Italians in front of me nuts...of sitting behind Maradona once...of even being caught on camera with my Serbian NOLEISTHEBEST flag...of losing my umbrella the first time I got there...and finally learning the lesson not to bother carrying one any more this year...maybe that's why WTF is leaving, who knows?
How about you folk?
