pretty close so far but one feels Djoko can return Feds serve too easily. Fed needs a better serve, faster balls.

Commentator: "Djoko's BH slice is nowhere near Federer's." Agree but they are even further apart when it comes to aesthetics. The beauty and the beast!
Missed chances for Federer.

Djoko mouvement is incredible. It's this glutten free diet! Only bones and muscles. NO fat!

It's a bit of an enigma that Federer is good at returning all the big serves but for some reasons struggles with Djoko's.

Re: Paris Masters 2018
Federer getting totally outclassed from the baseline but somehow he’s at 4-4! Needs Novak’s level to drop though as he’s currently looking like a plucky underdog, not an equal.

It's amazing how close is the score when you see the different of mouvement.

Re: Paris Masters 2018
Djoko is so weak mentally compared to Federer. He is 6 years younger, moves much better yet could have easily lost that set.
Federer doesn't run more than 3 steps. After 3 steps he stretches to get to the ball instead of running an extra step. And that affects his shots and in particular his FH badly.

Fed is keeping in touch cause he has so much better shots and is stronger mentally. Mouvement wise he is lagging badly nowadays.

There isn't much point drop shotting Djoko. He is too quick.

This will be amazing if Fed can win this. His ground strokes have been totally inferior to Novak’s all match but he keeps hanging in there. One set all!

Re: Paris Masters 2018
Djoko's mental weakness exposed again. There is no excuse to lose to a guy who doesn't move nearly as well.
Fed could have won that one in 2. He had SP in that first set.

Poor Djoko. He doesn't understand why the crowd is against him. He doesn't see his ugly game.

Well, yes it was close, both had chances to win, if he would of won set 1 probably better chance.

Yes 6 years is huge and yet it was pretty close. I am pretty sure that in a first or second round Fed would have been better.

Predictable. A load of running - loads of baseline nonsense - and bottled tie breaks.

Unfair to say 'bottled tiebreaks' when Fed did an amazing jobs on break points, saved 12/12 which is sensational. Great effort, and it's clear the win in Basel has given him confidence and improved his level.Daniel wrote:Predictable. A load of running - loads of baseline nonsense - and bottled tie breaks.

Re: Paris Masters 2018
Sure, Djoko won without ever breaking Fed's serve.
Moment of the match at the net shaking hands and Fed ignores Djokos approach for a hug
This git is gonna be No1 till Wimbledon at least, nothing to defend till then.

I did not see this. I saw Djoko ignoring Fed's words. Also the celebration to beat a 37yo was ridiculous. classless.Jahu wrote:Sure, Djoko won without ever breaking Fed's serve.

It's getting interesting. I have just picked the match up. At last a youngster able to hit through those guys.
Kygios did it but I am not sure he did it against a fit Djoko. Not sure Djoko is that fit either today.
checking it out....

Makes sense, I mean the French have always had friendly relations with the Russians plus it’s not like Americans ever came across to fight and die to liberate France is it?Tenez wrote:As a French I prefer Russia to the US...Used to be the other way around when I was younger.Jahu wrote:Come on Kacha!!! 7:5 1st set for Kacha, cant belive I'm I want a russian to win

The American people did but those who sent them had an agenda. Well done to the young russian with a croat coach!
Djoko should of been crushed last night and Fed won this, but this will do too.

Re: Paris Masters 2018
Amazing how Khasha kept his nerves in that last game. You would expect youngsters to try to hit through Djoko but no, he kept rallying to the point of running out of steam even.....but did not give Djoko easy points. Djoko tried to make him run like hell but at the end produced the UEs himself.
Sure Fed did contribute but Kasha played his part.

EU is nothing else than the American version of USSR but unlike USSR, EU, NATO are still going on.

Kacha is much more mentaly stronger then Zverev, hits the ball with no fear, be it 1st round or Final.
Copil did same last week, but sure at 28 a bit late.

Kei going after Delpo pull out, but will be a weak configuration, maybe Fed can win it one more time.

Yea I fancy another Fedal at WTF with a quick one for Fed, just for the sake of history.
Wouldn't bother me if Fed had a revenge on Djoko at WTF either, just to show him his place.

Re: Paris Masters 2018
I have now watched the first set and imo Fed had not much to do in that final. Djoko starts well and seems his usual form but Kasha sends him punches in corner and more importantly keeps rallying but forcing Djoko to run right and left instead of dictating the rally like he does v Federer (thanks to Fed's slower shots).
Djoko gets tired as the match goes on mostly due to Kasha's shots like Stan did in that FO final. It;s the high pace that tires Djoko more than the previous match in my view.

Kasha hitting 6 times more FH winners than Djoko. The last game of the first set says it all. Djoko scrambling right and left.

Break points are not tie breaks. Tie breaks require a lot more bottle and decide the set. And he bottled the last one. A double fault too.
As for Karen... at least one player has stood up and refused to be a useless loser like the rest.
