Diminutive David Ferrer will forever stand tall
Howdy all.
Wrote this about Ferrer, who played his last slam yesterday.

Good article LuvSex...but where is his H2H note with Fed? You are getting sloppy and carried away with $$$$$$ from your writing
I liked Ferrer, quiet, well behaved, a grinder and an eyesore of a tennis player, but at least not an annoying one.

Decent enough player. Good attitude and application to the game. Clean movement. Not my cup of tea.
Certainly punched above his weight, but I am not sort of feeling the respectful love. He was a bit bland.

Steady player, never spat on anyone.
Is that was it takes to be revered now?

Well I guess the counter would be how would Tomic be remembered? Certainly more talented than Ferrer, but just a complete prick.
I have no hesitation giving Ferrer credit where it's due.

No problem, I like the guy. I just don't get all the love from the sport (not here). I guess Federer would have grounds to be in mourning, not only does he lose a bunny but he's running out of time to get that 17-0 h2h for a new record.

Ferret has nearly 30 tournament wins at ATP level and over 700 wins on tour (every player above him on the latter list has multiple slam titles). I’d agree I don’t particularly like his game, but I think it’s fairly logical that someone with that career would get a fair amount of respect from his peers.

When you consider the diverse characters in the game, I guess extreme professionalism and respectful conduct is something many appreciate and respect.
It's more of a "well done lad" than a "you were fantastic lad" I feel. Do you feel it's love being professed? I can't say I am feeling that from comments some have made. He's not the memorable type.
I did HYS on BBC was in a meltdown when Timbo was mentioned.

I'm not being nasty about it, it's the stuff like the title. I mean, he's a tennis player not a martyr. And a short one.

He's an underachiever and has simply made up the numbers for years. Utterly useless. He belongs to Dimitrov's era not Fed's.

You think he had the talent to win a slam?

I'll compromise if the title is changed:
"Diminutive David Ferrer will forever stand small"
"Diminutive David Ferrer will forever stand small"

luvsports needs clicks. At least he did not title it "You will NOT believe this one thing about Roger Federer"bogbrush wrote:I'm not being nasty about it, it's the stuff like the title.

With a picture of Kelly Brook wearing a tennis racquet.
On second thoughts, I’ll click for that.
