Interesting comment of Fed (in French) in his pre-match interview:

I was not too confident playing half volleys and played hesitating but here in Wimbledon the court has a truer bounce.

He says he is more tired before this wimbledon than last year in spite of having a sinusite last year. The 9 matches in 12 days was too much.

BB can't complain. Well he can't complain anyway on CC but it's good to see Fed having it under control.

The grass seems a little more juicy compared with the openingsday last year. Lajo moves a bit uncomfortable on it.

Yeah, unfortunatly he won't meet many more claycourters. Most players with a decent grass game are in his side of the draw.

Meanwhile, the FH performs much better than in Halle

He looks good all round.
The FH in Halle was bad only because of tired legs, I reckon.

This match will mean a lot for his recovery from Stutt/Halle.

It's a try out for Fed.
untill the break in the third set he did a lot of slicing and blocking, he's now hitting much harder

Stan's confidence's hit the floor after losing that first game...mainly through Dimi's retrieving...such a shame.

Stan isn't a grass court player and doesn't like slices either coming or going, but still...there is only one Stan!!!!

Great win for Stan...just shows how fake and flimsy top ten is atm.

Not feeling sorry for Dimi...he has been injury free and there is no reason for him to have such low confidence.

He is the only player I can think of whose game is going backwards.

He needs to start taking his groundstrokes earlier if he wants to get anywhere...he looks weaponless.

In this era you can't survive weaponless unless you are uberfit and Dimi is too tall for a RR game.
