Brilliant idea, I should have thought of it first! I will be in London Monday July 2nd and now I know it will be partly sunny.

Comically bad start from both.
Verdasco spinning in his first serve, why??

Both playing pretty well so far. Over 20 minutes played and it’s still only 1-1!

Verdasco BH is an unforced error machine.
Meanwhile if Djokovic plays like this in the semi vs thiem, he’s absolute toast.

Horrible bounce that for Novak. Saves the break point though with a nice bhdtl.

Is it really windy there today? There were some abysmal misses in the Stephens match beforehand but I just assumed that was because it was WTA. However, there have been some shots in this one which have been well wide of the trams.

Verdasco must be on a mission to break some UE record.

9mph wind, it’s just the players playing terribly.Slippy wrote:Is it really windy there today? There were some abysmal misses in the Stephens match beforehand but I just assumed that was because it was WTA. However, there have been some shots in this one which have been well wide of the trams.

I am not alone so not quite in control of my time. Would love to meet in person, but will have to play it by ear. If it looks like I can squeeze some time, will let you know and if it works for you for sure we can meet for a drink or two.Tenez wrote:Fancy catching up SB? No doubt collusion in debates against me will be discussed, dodgy stuff.summerblues wrote:I am not alone so not quite in control of my time. Novak playing well. Tend to agree with Decima that he’s probably not ready yet to really challenge at the business end of a slam. However, I think there are promising signs that he might be somewhere near 100% at Wimbledon.

He is serving well, and his forehand on the run has been excellent... the talent to change direction of the ball while off balance is clear.Slippy wrote:Novak playing well. However he’s making too many unforced errors, and movement isn’t quite at his best. Needs to improve for Thiem semi, maybe he will.

This is an efficient, if unspectacular, display from Novak. Goffin losing the third set 6-0, so he’s going to have to go 5 again to get through. Either way, looking like Novak is nailed on for a SF.

I suppose one consequence of virtually everyone being in the other side is that Nadal will be bound to play someone decent in the final.

Nadal will be more tired, bottom half of draw has day advantage as they play a day earlier... with rainy schedule Nadal may have to pay every day for the rest of the week.Tenez wrote:A very tired....decent player!bogbrush wrote:I suppose one consequence of virtually everyone being in the other side is that Nadal will be bound to play someone decent in the final.

Re: Day 8 French Open predictions
Great win from Nole ! Can he go all the way?
How did he play?
Surprised by Goffin loss, this Italian bambino must be molto bene!
It’s such a gorgeous balmy evening in Paris, I can’t believe it’s forecast to rain to orrow...plus the “sucks” order of play for Lenglen...but hey, who cares...
