Not really. This is what I feared. Thiem would not be anywhere near this position.

I don't know which matches some of you are watching, but this has always been a worry of mine. And Nadal has sailed through with his usual SHIT FUCKING EASY draw. It's so annoying.

Exactly. On Saturday I was going to see Rublev expecting I would be rooting for him. But after a few minutes watching him, I could not bring myself to do so. Oh well, it is what it is. Well done Delpo. Fed was a poor imitation of Fed from Indian Wells. He played one decent match this tournament - vs Lopez. The rest of it was mediocre (vs Kohli) to poor to horrible.

I knew that Del Potro was a much tougher prospect than Thiem. Unlike you. So ask me again who is clueless, NITB. You rattle on about the court... have you seen how good Del Potro is playing? And he's an attacking player. One of the most attacking players on tour.

Del Potro hitting winners left and right... first serve in % something like 80% for huge periods. 100% of 1st serves won in 4th set when I looked.

That's too bad, I went to bed at 5-5 1st because it was too late & thought Federer would come through. Sounds like he could have too, with 4 set points in the 4th.

Ah well, 2 Slams it is and 8th Wimbledon. On a scale of 1-10 on expectations it's still a 427. #1 will be tough now unless JMDP helps out.

My take: It should depend on whether or not he believes he may have further slams in him. If so, then he should do whatever maximizes his chances of scoring more slams - and if that means taking the rest of the year off, that is what he should do. Forget all smaller tournaments, and even potential No1 is not worth it. If, on the other hand, he does not think he can win more slams, then he should just play wherever he feels like and whenever he feels like it.
