if Djok v simon turns up - Murray will kill him. But chances are he won't - and Murray will just rally for air.

80/20...exactly the odds I would have picked too.
Ok....I need all the possible points so I am going to say
Murray in 3! and joker
Coco taecau.

Re: FInal day of oz
Murray needs to really come up big serving.. that would make it better for him.. He needs to mix it up better, exchanging ground strokes will never work for Murray..
0-1 sets down.. Murray.
0-1 sets down.. Murray.

The points he wins are so laborious.

Struggles continue on serve for Murray... He really needs to win this set.. else it will not even go 4 sets...

Murray has the speed and strength of shots. Missing some right shot-selection. Also doesn't posses the FH like Djokovic..Tenez wrote:Murray like Federer has to take absurd risks.

His FH is very clunky and artificial.

Re: FInal day of oz
It's very simple...Djoko's mouvement gives him the time to dictate.
It's tough to beat that mouvement.....when all other players arrive on the ball rushed, Djoko is there with time and therefore options despite his average shots.
A super Hewitt!

This is the perfect demonstration of the arm muscles tiring much quicker than the legs. Murray makes many stupid mistakes after 10+ rallies.

It must be an annoying job to be in Murray's team. He keeps screaming at you every now and then. Then suddenly weird smiling and talking something or the other.. He makes it hard even for them to root for him...

Everything about Murray's tennis is muscle. Every single shot. Of course he is going to get tired first.
But, he's done well with what he's been given.
Against a lighter pair of legs and better ball striker Murray hits the brick wall physically.
Against Fed, he just gets outplayed.
He is quite limited.

Yes, not a pretty sight, but that's how he deals with his own frustrations...his team know it's nothing personal, against them however degrading it sounds...raiders_of_the_lost_ark wrote:It must be an annoying job to be in Murray's team. I don't like it when he foulmouths his opponent. That is bad.

Yes, that was a good passage of play, but unsustainable as I said earlier as he is so physical in his tennis...even when attacking!
Plus as he is not comfortable doing it, he must find is twice as stressful, too.
Every shot he goes for inside the baseline turns a few of his hairs grey...

Murray simply has not shotmaking ability.
As soon as he goes down the line...game over.

Djoko winning the sets thanks to Murray's many UEs.....though UEs after 36 shots rallies are not quite the same real UEs....versus Blake!

he has more than Djoko though. Better BH, much better volleys....and out acing Djoko today. Just Djoko has a better FH....only just.
Murray is tired.....he uses more muscles but both games are based on fitness....,just that Djoko has the best formula.

We need Chung and Nishi to get up to speed quick.
In restrospect, Chung did not do badly for a first encounter.

Murray's serve has really improved over the years. He woudl have been crushed with his old serve.

So Djoko, joins Borg.....at 11!
He will probably catch up Nadal...but not certain yet. Every single slam he plays are going to be crucial. I don;t think he will go over 15...though.
Would be interesting for the GOAT debate if he overtakes Nadal in slams and H2H....

I know but unless he gets Nadal's slam number he cannot be considered for the GOAT debate, While Nadal can pretend to be "better" than Fed cause he as the H2H.
Having said that this very argument weights much less now that he himself lost that H2H edge over Djoko. Still....the H2H is too close in that case to play much against Nadal.

Re: FInal day of oz
Murray was almost in tears as he gave his post match presentation speech.. had heavy voice throughout.
He clearly see himself as the weaker of the 2 players who started their careers almost together, and he also knows he is playing his best possible tennis. He just can't do anything to hurt Djokovic at all.

I agree. Murray can consider himself lucky that he won Wimbledon and 2 slams total. He may even win another. But he's never been in Djok's league - right from the start.

2 of the 3 sets were very close. I think had murray played his long semi on Thursday, he coudl have done even better. He tired very quickly in today's match.FedererKing wrote:noleisthebest wrote:I disagree...Nole was better than Murray from day one...well before the muscles arrived.Tenez wrote:noleisthebest wrote:Tenez wrote:noleisthebest wrote:Murray simply has not shotmaking ability.
