Tennis is like that, it accentuates and emphasises the mental aspect of the game.noleisthebest wrote:I can't believe Blake got bagelled in the second. What a distorted picture the score gives.

I can't believe Raonic went for the T with 2nd serve (and double-faulted). He's really realxed.
Blake really needs to take it to him and fast!

No, Murray will absorb Raonic's serve no problemo. And when his serve is being returned well, Raonic begins to panic and goes for the lines....and that's usually the beginning of the end. No plan B. Can't play without serve.
Honestly Rao is playing too well. He woudl have beaten Murray tonight easily. Murray had trouble with Lopy's serve...imagine Rao's. Besides Rao is moving extremely well. The way he broke Blake again in that 3rd set was amazing for such a tall guy. Dodgy if you ask me!

Maybe Blake should try and receive the serve a bit more behind the base line. On the line clearly not working.

No chance. Murray would up his game when needed.Tenez wrote:noleisthebest wrote:Tenez wrote:

I'm still not convinced by Raonic. Blake does not defend well and is making Raonic look better than he is in my opinion. Raonic has had zero pressure from Blake.
I didn't watch Murray Lopez, but my guess is that he just wasn't pumped for that match as he usually handles Lopez well.

The Querrey-Berdych match is almost 2 hours for 2 sets. More than likely it will a 5-setter, which means 5 hours.

Am I imagining it or do players come forward a bit more often this year than usual?

No, I see that too. It seems to be the trend. I think Fed inspired itsummerblues wrote:Am I imagining it or do players come forward a bit more often this year than usual?
when he started revamping his game with Anacone and playing more s

others follow (the leader)
I remember Fed was the one who
"invented" the deadly drop-shot and the first to used it to advantage (I
think in Madrid'o9? beating rafa). Soon everybody tried to follow (the
leader). Djoko now has his own signature drop shot.

Beaten Murray?. well. Murray won't have played against Raonic the way he did against Lopez. Lopez is a handicap on the backhand wing. He can't even hit 2 consecutive shots without making an error. Thats that first thing a tactical player will attcak. Players like Murray who play tactical game rather than going for glorious risky shot-making will easily take advantage of that, and thats what happened yesterday. A bit risky, but totally worth and pays off most of the times. 3 Tb sets, and the match in his pocket. Who cares about the fact that Lopez won 8 more points in total, had more BPs, and won more breaks etc. Murray won't worry about his own struggles against Lopez's serve or himself being broken many times. Tactical players don't care about any of those. As long as the tactic worked, he is all fine.
So I don't think Murray would have employed the same tactics against Rao.Against Raonic, he will have totally diffent ones. Lots of those slices, many drop-shots, long risk free rallys bh-2-bh.

Raonic's shots on those relatively fast HCs are simply too fast to slice and drop shot.
Rao has the game to blast Murray off court and I think he will just do that. The only thing that can beat Rao is Rao's nerve. I know I am not doing well on those predictictions cause there are a lot of players had I not watched but I saw Rao v Blake and he was pretty impressive. Murray willl suffer.
And didn't Rao beat Murray last time they played on clay?

Yes he did Tenez... but a Grand Slam is different to Masters. Murray's intensity will be different.
I think Murray will win, I'm 95% sure.
