1. Marcel Granollers (ESP)[24] Going with the age
2. Petzchner deserve to win, Almugro is annoying to watch.
3. Milos Raonic (CAN)[15]
4. Verdasco- he will win this one, Ramos seems to be out of form.
5. Lopez (ESP) more experienced at this level
6. Jeremy Chardy (FRA)[32]- he is on the roll,Ebden is a better grass court player and had an easy first round.

I must say that ROTLA is doing a fantastic job with all this.
ROTLA
Still a long way to go, this game reminds me of the F1 season of 2010 in which Vettel came back to win it from 5th place with only 3-4 races to go.

Another very tough choice!
... stop moonballing (like Raonic in Raonic v Giraldo) in the desire to win then, and take some risk.

Wasn't picking Gulbis a risky stroke?

Points standings have been corrected. I made a mistake in calculations in the morning.
Standings as on 30-Aug-2012:
Points:
rotla: 67 - 38 = 29
tenez: 149 -38 = 111
nitb: 77 + 28 = 105
laverfan: 80 - 104 = -24
wow: 85 -38 = 47
sphairistike: 121 - 38 = 83
--------------------
No. of correct predictions
rotla: 8/12 +3/6 = 11/18
tenez: 10/12 + 3/6 = 13/18
nitb: 9/12 + 4/6 = 13/18
laverfan: 9/12 +2/6 = 11/18
wow: 9/12 + 3/6 = 12/18
sphairistike: 9/12 + 3/6 = 12/18

The most pathetic, one dimensional player wins. Another fixed reult. Well played Petszchner, I wish I could say the same thing for his opponent. Disgraceful result.

Now that I'm playing this guessing game, I've been watching livescores like a hawk , just had a look ow and the first thought that went through my head was: What's the matter with Tsonga

Petzsch does not have a very good five-set record. He had control of the match being up 2-1 sets. He has himself to blame. He did the same when playing Nadal @W.

He has an 'unofficial' one, in Guy Forget.

Stephens is touted as next Williams. She is rapidly rising on the scene. Good to see Lopez scrapping through, my bet was quite right on Petzy but Spanish endurance got better here.

Tsonga was completely out of sorts against Klizan. Klizan played some pretty good attacking forehands.

What an amazing player Blake is. A joy to watch. Such a talent. With faster balls he woudl still be top 5...but the head will always be his problem.
So nice to see that kind of tennis back! Remember he was one of the very few players who could stay with in-the-zone Federer.

Oudin had one run at the U.S Open..I agree the Americans were getting a little carried away but this Stephens girl is quite talented...she looks really promising, the most promising up and coming female player I have seen in a very long time

I don't mind paying the price of seeing such a great game winning those real moonballers.
I did not know Blake could still play like that. Just confirms that players improve till their 30s.

I watched The Party after a very long time again, and can't get Peter Seller's silly grin out of my head, it's just hovering above the service line

This is why I am so convinced the greatest era was actually 2002-2007 when all those great shot makers had faster conds and tennis was really untertaining (Blake, Federer, Nalby, Coria, Ljubo, Davydenko.....) all getting qualified for the Year end masters.

Who is British number 1 ? Heather Watson- crashed out to Li Na in the very first round. When was the last time Britain had a decent single player in female tennis? At least Williams have been flying the flag for past 15 years. And on top of that players like Konta and Keothavong are not even British. Even Boggo was an import
Forgot to mention legendary Robert Dee

mmmmmaybe....but I like a lot of players from this era. You seem to be judging the players rather than the playing conditions. We can see the "oldies" play now, but I'm just as SO convinced, most of today's players would be fantastic 10 years ago )and , no , just don't mention HIS nams).

3 Frenchies in the draw today and most likely all will be taking the flight back. Verdasco getting a facile win over Ramos as expected.
