The last Grand slam of the year 2012 is here and what fantastic buildup we have had. Nadal isn't present, but tennis waits for no man. 4 different tournaments in the US open series and 4 different winners. This US open is very interesting. May the best man win.

I don't think anyone expected Bogo to do too well, but Murray has played some good shots (but some silly errors too).

Have you been impressed by the use of the drop-shot?- Bogomolov isn't the quickest and he's really struggled here.

Bog is looking like a joke, making Murray look better than he actually is at the moment. Anybody else would've taken advantage of all those break points.
Murray not bad, I suppose he's only played one match on hard courts since Miami and that was a long time ago.

Defending very well, but there again Bogo is so bad it's not that hard.

I think Murray played 2 matches in Cincinatti, Querrey and Chardy.

Bogomolov is OK, average for a 1st round encounter for a seed I'd say. He's not that bad. Last year he actually showed some great form, but this year he's been pretty poor. He also changed to a Russian passport, maybe that has put pressure which has affected him.. I don't know.

Bogomolov breaks straight away- Murray is really not playing well here. He can't keep on getting away with drop shots- he has to play with more accuracy here.

OK nitb I'll try to control myslef. It was only meant to be a joke. Frankie Boyle wouldn't approve of you clampdown of freedom of expression.

Bogo was very good last year. He even knocked Murray out in Miami (2nd round).
Ever since he started playing for Russian DC team, his form went down.

USTA were quite upset with him leaving them after "all they had done for him"

...an the third. Despite the fluctuations throughout the match, Murray looked comfortable and in good shape, quite fluid and didn't bash the ball much at all.

Somdev second though. Last year he was playing well, this year his form has been a bit poor. I was pleased when he won Commonwealth Gold last year too- but he couldn't do well at the Olympics

Because he was injured for long time. He does have the game to be in top 40s. let's see if he can climb up the ladder again.
