Re: Federer Ljubicic interview
Thanks for that interview, LS. I really enjoyed it.
I've been feeling quite downcast tennis wise recently and struggling to take any pleasure watching it.
I've had all sort of gloomy thoughts tbh.
So seeing the glint in Fed's eye when he talked about the future really cheered me up.
There will be some more tennis summers yet to come, won't there?
The sun had better shine, the grass be green and fresh, the crowd in their best mood. I'm sure the time will slow down for us all, maybe even stop.
Let it be....

Re: Federer Ljubicic interview
Thanks for the interview...shame they made a 25mn interview of a 5mn one though.
So JS....you asked me a 1000 times how to explain Federer's first loss to Nadal and I told you he was not well that day.....I told you that his score v Davydenko was really weird considering how well he was playing then and how easily he had just won IW...now you hear it from the horse's mouth. Nadal lost to Gonzo the following round of so and there is nothing Gonzo coudl do that Fed coudl not....especially on the BH side.

Re: Federer Ljubicic interview
Will watch the interview now;
Tenez did Federer say he was ill on Miami 2004? In that case I will take his word for it.
However my point was that this win was not really an anomaly. Even the next time they played on outdoor HC in Miami again Nadal took the first 2 sets (and isn't your theory that Nadal only lost because he ran out of gas in the BO5??), and after that IIRC Nadal won the next HC outdoor match in Dubai 2006.
So it wasn't really a one off in that respect, early on in Nadal's career.

Re: Federer Ljubicic interview
but that was a year later....a huge difference when you are 17! In 2005 Nadal was in the Final whereas in 2004 he was being beaten right and left by everybody...look who he lost to a week earlier in IW 04!

Re: Federer Ljubicic interview
OK I admit he was a better player when he was 18 than he was 17, don't remember saying anything to the contrary though.

Re: Federer Ljubicic interview
Maybe I'm biased, but I'd have still fancied his chances for the FO in 2004 if not for injury.

Re: Federer Ljubicic interview
yes you are biased.
You kept going on for months and years asking me to explain why Nadal beat Fed in Miami 2004 but you never wanted to believe what I said... Laverfan and I kept telling you that Fed was not 100% that day as even the commentator of the match (on youtube) were saying it...but again you thought it was excuses...
One day you will realise that 99% of what I say is actually correct.

Re: Federer Ljubicic interview
not as biased as you lol.
My point was how successful Nadal was over a period of time on outdoor hard, Miami 2004 was just one match. Federer may not have won Miami 2004 even if he was not ill. Miami 2005 Nadal won the first 2 sets, Dubai 2006 he won... you get the point. Nadal was no pushover.
It's impossible for 99% of what you say to be proved correct because most of it has already been proved wrong. I mean how many times have you been wrong on Nadal? You'll never admit it though.
Didn't you say the new generation would break through this year? That was proved nearly totally wrong.
Was Dimitrov going to be top 3 by this year? etc. etc.
Oh and cmon if Laverfan had told me Federer was ill (ie Miami 2004) I would have believed her, it's only because you said it I didn't really trust you as you have a tendency to make up excuses.
