Dimi is such a resilient player, lots of variety but no weapons.
Working for him today.

It's so tough, horrible actually, to play Monfils on clay if you don;t have the power to shake him off, especially on the BH side.

Monfils is just pushing the bal on that side and waits for a mistake.

Monfils is the reason why Federer did not turn up in FO 08 final. Federer doesn;t seem to be using much of recovering drugs.

Federer is out of touch on those slow courts nowadays against such physical players. He has to play amazing points to stay in the match.

Yes...just had to hit 4 brilliant FHs right into corner to win a point.

Dolgo played faster than Fed yesterday and still lost.

Fed is more consistent and less risky, so he shoukd pull through.
Monf in many ways is more exhausting than Nadal.

I must say the court plays really slow, very disadvantageous for Fed's strengths and perfect for Monfils's athletic counterpunching.

Wasting an easy FH SP for Nadal....who once again saves SP and probably a match by the skin of his teeth.

I thought he really wanted to win but I think both Monfils and the uneveness of the court made very difficult for him to be confident in his shots...and against Monfils he needed to hit the ball harder.....difficult to do when the bounce is uneven.

This is why attackers have often failed on clay.

Well I only saw the bad line calling trying to point to the referee the wrong ball mark. Maybe he has done worse than that.

Anyways, if Ferrer beats Simon, Nadal needs to win this one first in 3, then most likely he'll need 3 sets to beat Ferrer (IF he even can) and then he will have the privilege of meeting Nole in SF. By then not sure he'll have the (mental) energy to pull through...

Dropshot is one of my favourite shots on clay, esp live...it drops softly as a feather adding drama and magic to usually very physical sounding tennis.

Bottom half of the draw has opened up beautifully for Monfils, Raonic and Dimitrov, the latter two will be super keen to make their first 1000 final.

I don't see Berdych hungry to win anything.
He seems to be happy with making it to the

Didn't Raonic look so much better with his natural wavy hair and no sleeve, his tennis was relaxed then as well?

The more he shaves, gels and fusses over it, the more neurotic and wound up he and his game are.

Quite funny...
