Smart move from Kenin's parents to raise and train her in the States so she could dope safely unlike her former compatriots.

...yeah cause Russia is drug free, while the state sponsors doping fully.

Nole playing beautiful tennis.
Shame he got bored and allowed Thiem in.
Thiem really is a new Nadal, except that Nadal is more interesting to watch.

Thiem is too passive and will be running out of steam soon. Djoko is very nervous and plays gutlessly but at this game he is better than Nadal.

Re: Australian Open - 2020
That's the problem of passive players. When they try to hit a winner on important point (like BPs) they mess up. Thiem is only doing OK cause Djoko is nervous or upset by the crowd.

Re: Australian Open - 2020
Only you could make that statement after Thiem goes a double break up and 1-1 in sets. You;re beyond delusional.
And regardless of the result, there's too many of you who think Djok is a god. He isn't. He's lucky Nadal is a faded force on any surface other than Clay - a good match up for Djok - and that Fed is old.
It's that simple. Thiem is younger, fitter, attacking, and has a road runner defence game. You either outlast Djok or outhit him... like against Nadal. Or you do both.
Thiem is doing both.
The alternate reality of Tenez....
Don't know what match you're watching, mate - but it isn't this one. Theim is outlasting, outhitting, and outthinking Djok.

Thiem is in Djokovic's head. The win in RG semi's, then in WTF, now here.. Thiem is younger version of Stan and they both affect the Serb mentally.

Thiem could choke though, this would be his maiden grand slam win. Lots of pressure.

If Thiem holds it together and wins this Slam... it def won't be his last,. He'll win a fair few - especially on slow courts.

Daniel I debated with you a few months ago when you were negative about Thiem.
I’ve always thought he’s got what it takes.

If you read my generation worthless thread you'll see I had hope for him - and I had him as favourite this tournament. Problem is he has bottled leads in past. But he looks to be over it.

Djok's pulling a Nadal. Can never ever be beaten properly without having to resort to medics or blaming injury. Theim won't fall for this drama queen shite.
And why has he been allowed to go off with a doctor in private?

Read the comment there. It's a current generation worthless and it still is. Until Theim wins, he'll be on that thread.

Re: Australian Open - 2020
I was just thinking the same. He can last infinite rallies with Nole but also has the firepower to hit through him. That is a difficult combo to deal with.Daniel2 wrote:You either outlast Djok or outhit him... like against Nadal. Or you do both.
Thiem is doing both.
Nadal and Nole (and maybe Medvedev in future) are the only other players who can rally forever, but they do not have the same firepower.
Still, long way to go. I am sure Nole will be harder to beat in sets 4 & 5 than in set 3. And Thiem will realize how close he is and may well tighten up - would not be the first time he choked.

Nadal can't hit consistent winners like Theim is on this surface.

Yes but against Nadal Djoko doesn't need to force his game. He doesn't need to serve harder.

26 is prime years as I keep reminding you. It's after 28 that most players slide. You keep spreading misinformation but you think Djok's losing because of the crowd.

Theim is a good server, so it's not a gimme. Shame is Fed used to be the best on tour other than Roddick. Even then Fed's was more consistent.

Nope. Theim is a better server, he has more hunger, and Djok is trying to hide the fact he's physically feeling it. Trainer will be out again soon no doubt if Theim takes a lead.

Re: Australian Open - 2020
Theim will take it but he'll have to contend with Djok's cheating at the end of 3rd. That should never have been allowed.
And if Djok did win, there will be a lot of questions asked.

You missed the part Tenez where Djok went out for a dodgy break and was getting totally outplayed. When you made your spazzy comment, Theim was 2-1 up and outplaying Djok.
