And just when I say that he loses his serve to Schwarzy to nil!Tenez wrote:Anderson will be better than Schwarzy v Nadal!
Let's forget about the 1/4F.....only the semi should see a decent opponent.

Schwartz would have had no chance v Nadal. Anderson has the firepower.

His first Test is going to be SF if a fit delpo reaches there. Else his draw was such that the final was certain.Tenez wrote:Schwartz would have had no chance v Nadal. Anderson has the firepower.

Kev is serving so well, and in real life almost dwarfing the court.
Still, no chance vs Nadal who’d make him run with his moonballing.

Would it be any different than their US Open meeting?

It's all about critical pace v Nadal. Enjoy Paris!noleisthebest wrote:Kev is serving so well, and in real life almost dwarfing the court.

Re: Day 9 French Open predictions
The USO was more ideal than the FO for Nadal. Dead slow, high bounce and a better grip for his running around the court.luvsports! wrote:Would it be any different than their US Open meeting?
On clay a powerful shot hurts more. Soderling for instance coudl not beat Nadal on grass or hard (except fall 2009 when everybody was beating Nadal) but did it at the FO.

Kev is good, but as soon as he is not on the ball he gets erratic, plus we know what his head is like...also, spins the ball too much for my liking, shortish length on most of his shots, pathetic when you think about it!

Nadal will certainly try to send Kevin into corners but that's easy to do with Gasquet's shots. It's harder to do when the ball comes with more pace.

Kev looks good on both wings, the inside out FH working great!
If he had a cool head like Delpo, he’d be a lot more dangerous.

Marterer doesn't seem to panick ...and very surprisingly seems to handle Nadal's spin ....without ever having played him!

Nadal on a long toilet break...he needs that extra time! Crucial...even if teh score looks one sided......he has no choice but to take as much time to continue to impress physically.

Schwartzman breaks Anderson for the 4th time in the fifth set. Surely *5-2 means it’s all over? Will be a crushing defeat for Anderson who led 61 62 53.

Rafa loses a first serve on a time violation. Doesn’t bother him though as he holds to love.

Serena Williams to forfeit, so Marterer should spin it out for another set. Crowd have been saved ear-drum damage.

Shame that was close. A bit more experience from Marterer and it woudl have been even closer.

Marterer looks a talented player. Nadal just a bit too solid from the baseline in the end though.

I love playing Maria. I’ve made every sacrifice I could. I made a commitment to myself and my team that if I wasn’t at least 60% I wouldn’t play
Serena on how 61% is enough to beat Sharapova......

Good match from Nadal
Schwartzman can be a trouble in a good day in the sense that every point will be longer than nadal seems to like now
still strong favourite.
