Re: ATP Masters 1000: Montreal
Well.....this one will have an asterix as Nole seems to have an elbow problem. In any case the fittest once again wins.

Re: ATP Masters 1000: Montreal
I only saw bits in the first set and the last two games.
You can see why the next generation will have to have big weapons.
The two couldn't put each other out of misery...though Nole is a more natural player, despite all Murray hype.
When all is said and done, one to forget. A match-up nobody wants to see.

2 out of 3 aint bad. (spieth still 3 shots behind)Tenez wrote:gallery play wrote:I would be nice if Djoko and his golf carbon copy (Jordan Spieth) both won't win tonight
The thing is as much as I dislike Djoko's game, I dislike Murray's game even more. If the 3 could lose that woudl be even better.
Scorewise it was ok, but the tennis was awful. Murray's sheer willpower helped him through but his FH ..Like he played with a spoon
Djoko kinda did what he always does, but he didn't seem to bother much. He's never going to play this sloppy at the USO.

I don;'t like either, but I wanted Murray to win.
Well I think my beloved Feds is on the gear to a lesser extent so no. More obvious dopers for sure but I couldn't take another Djoko win.

He's all yours!
I'd take "Djoko's" win over Murray's any day.
I think Murray as number one would be a disaster.
I know it's looking less possible by the minute, but it would be nice to see Fed at the top once more.
The only one among the young pups with any heart is Rublev. It's just great to have a brave number one, isn't it?
That's what tennis is all about. Being brave.

At the end arguing between Murray or Djoko is a sad discussion. We need better ball strikers.

Re: ATP Masters 1000: Montreal
We do!
And we have them: Stan, Nishi, Fed...but only Fed is the full package.
Why is it so hard to have weapons and good footwork at the same time?
Chardy has the weapons but no movement.
Verdasco has the shots but no brains.
Monfils could be really good but he is just so feeble inside.
Tsonga collapses as soon as someone returns his serve...
Even in the young generation there are already two energy drainers: Coric and Zverev.

Haven't seen much of the Montreal matches, timezone is killing it and was busy, but managed to catch a little of the final. I have rarely seen so many FH-errors on mid-court balls like in this match from Murray, the whole side looked atrocious. BH very good though.
Djokovic is fully capable of playing like this in a major. He almost lost to Anderson at Wimbledon, played very scrappy vs. Wawrinka at AO.
Don't know whether to buy his injury with him playing b2b masters. Why would he do that with a budding injury? It's not like he needs the points or is short of match practice before the USO.

That's why I think he will pull of Cincy.....or lose first round.
Has he points to defend?

No points really. He lost early last year to Robredo.
He was very flat after winning Wimby last year and bombed early in Toronto (2 & 2 to Tsonga) and straights to Robredo.
