Has anyone heard what Kyrgios was saying to the empire when he gave him a code violation "Nadal was taking 30s after every single point and he nothing was done while I just want to change my socks and ......."

Did he really say that? Interesting. What happened in that match against Gasquet, did he not play some points? I heard about something but didn't watch the match.

@Tenez: Yes, he said it. The one thing I like about Kyrgios is his attitude towards Nadal. Although it seems that nowadays players justify their own transgression of rules with a reference to Nadal rule breaking.

Re: Wimbledon Prediction Game: Day 8
Yes Nadal is going to be the reference when it comes to breaking the rule. We discussed yesterday how late it was in that 2008 final when we could not see anything outside.
When you think they frequently allowed the 35 to 50 secs between points that day which clearly affected Federer in every sense especially when it turned very dark the player with the bigger margins was at an even bigger advantage.
They keep calling this the greatest final of all time. I cannot disagree more. It was a set up....no less.

....
Hawk-Eye the Noo," was the headline in The Sun that saluted Andy Murray's progress to the last eight at Wimbledon.
This is how Dan King summed it all up: "Andy Murray hailed Hawk-Eye for helping him to victory over 6ft 11in giant Ivo Karlovic. But Novak Djokovic's Wimbledon title defence hangs in the balance after bad light halted his last-16 clash with Kevin Anderson at two sets apiece.
"Murray challenged a line call at a crucial moment in the fourth set as tensions rose in his titanic tussle with Croat hulk Karlovic. He roared with delight as replays showed that the ball was out by two millimetres - handing him the break that turned the match."

It will be interesting to see what is Djoko's 2nd serve av speed in that 5th set. I don't think it is going to be very impressive.

argh! Frustrating! Not impressed by Djoko but he does everything so safe thanks to his mouvement and medium pace shots.
He certainly is a better version of Hewitt...but nothing more.

2 DF's from Kevin at 5-5...like i predicted really. That's why the guy never wins big matches.Tenez wrote:argh! Frustrating! Not impressed by Djoko but he does everything so safe thanks to his mouvement and medium pace shots.

Re: Wimbledon Prediction Game: Day 8
Q. You are aware that Juan Martin del Potro is not able to come back to the tour yet. Would you encourage him to play with a one handed backhand instead of two? Do you think it's feasible at this age?
ROGER FEDERER: He definitely could. But is it a goal to be ranked 80 in the world, you know? Not really. I think if you want Juan Martin back, you want him back at the very top where he belongs.
It's been rough to see him go under the knife so many times now, not be around really. I've always enjoyed the matches against him. He's one of the best ball strikers we've ever had in the game.
So I wish him a speedy recovery and a return with a double handed backhand.
It's like if you asked me to play double handed, it's not really going to work, you know what I mean?

Yes...but Djoko was also 15/40 down and again 0/30 down...but unlike Kevin he has a game of pushing to fall back on.gallery play wrote:2 DF's from Kevin at 5-5...like i predicted really. However that is where Pete was a bit more solid mentally..when it came to big serves

Well it really was a match neither player deserved to win. Too many stutters from both, Marin must fancy his chances now.
Anderson's main reason for losing was he thought he had to serve on the line.. pressure told by the end

Re: Wimbledon Prediction Game: Day 8
Yeah, i guess it's better to hit it softer and keep the 1st serve percentage up.
I like Cilic but i think he's not even close to his USO '14 form. He actually should have lost to Berankis. I can't see any difficulties here for Djoko.

It's awkward for someone with very long arms to play 1hbh, I have longer arms than most men too and it's difficult for proper coordination.Tenez wrote:Q. Re: Wimbledon Prediction Game: Day 8
Q. The women's singles draw has had fewer matches on Centre and 1. Fewer than other slams. Caroline criticized that scheduling today. What do you think about that? Do you think it should be allocated more evenly here, especially considering women's matches are shorter, so if you have two men's and one women's?
ROGER FEDERER: It's totally up to the tournament organizers to make that call. Usually it's always very balanced, to be quite honest. But here this is grass, there's no night session. Matches start earlier maybe. They don't want to have too many people running around on the grass, I don't know.
So they only have three matches, like today, on Centre. That's not a lot. Usually you have four to five or six. Matches start at 11 and finish at midnight, let's say, at the US Open. I think it goes a little bit with that.
But it is what it is. I'm sure if they're doing it, it's not because of bad intentions. It's just the scheduling and thinking that maybe those are the matches now they want to play on Centre, that's it.
Of course, they would try to be fair. I would be surprised if it would be otherwise.
===========================
What to answer to this kind of questions? Cause the crowd want to see more men's tennis than ladies.
Political correctness prevents us from saying that......by that's what it is...cope with it Caroline!

Re: Wimbledon Prediction Game: Day 8
Berankis was playing great in that match - one of the best matches of the tournament so far. And Cilic can turn it on after tough matches like he showed at the USO (played 5-setter vs. Simon there iirc). This won't be a W/O for Djokovic.

I agree AL.....certainly hope so. Cilic may have time to catch up with as it was pretty much neck and neck with Djoko when both were younger.
