Maybe...some people are untamable, though, Dolgo's another one.
He'd have to pile on muscle, too.
No, he'd better stay a clown.

Plus, he could potentially lose all those dreadlocks...imagine Brown with receding hairline

Newcastle and McEnroe will burn in tennis hell for defending Nadal's time violations and condemning Bernardes!

Nadals serve is very much on the decline this year, good to see
He really has no chance against top 10's with his game, and may even fail to make the 3rd round

Re: Wimbledon Prediction Game: Day 4
This should put to bed the fanatics excuses for Nadals grass failures the last few years--- not enough time to adjust to grass, not enough match play, worn out from defending his French Title. At the most important and greatest Major of all- the guy has crashed out in his prime 4 years to guys ranked in the 100's.
I wish he was giving Fed some chances to meet him this year.. he piled on 4 easy wins in the H2H against Fed in 2013 when Fed was a shell of himself due to the back... Now we have a year and a half of Nadal barely able to beat a top 10'er and Fed making it to later rounds of nearly every tournament and Nadal keeps crashing out. Another reason why H2H can be a joke of a barometer.

Re: Wimbledon Prediction Game: Day 4
It's not so much the serve his problem....as his returns. Dustin is a great player but most other player would have returned better...closer to the line....like Kholi did when he returned Rosol 3 years ago.AceofDeath wrote:Nadals serve is very much on the decline this year, good to see

Same story with Nadal....He makes his opponent play better than they would. Henman was again right...against Murray or Federer Brown would have lost....in fact against any top 50 Brown would probably have lost.
Nadal can't cope woth fast conditions....it's a real shame he managed to win 2 Wimbledon...scrapping through the first week thanks to his absurd time taking and MTOs.

I wish the roadrunners like Djoko, Nadal and Murray were to play federer in the first week and not after 2 weeks of heavy play when dust replaces grass and the balls are the slowest on tour.
It's would make a huge difference.....and Federer would be fresher too.

Re: Wimbledon Prediction Game: Day 4
Hi guys, i've been busy, too busy to post predictions but i've seen Nadal going down a couple of sets and i have to admit: it was fun.
Brown is such a unorthadox player, it's hilarious to see Nadals inability to cope wih that. BArtoli said after the match: ""Rafa Nadal is too much of a champion to not come back to the level he played." but i'm beginning to think that's bullshit. When i see NAdal i don't see a champ, it's more like an overachiever who now has to face reality (playing by the rules).
This player never should have won 2 wimbers. Never.

Re: Wimbledon Prediction Game: Day 4
Completely agree with that. It's a disgrace. he never beat a seeded player at the USO when the USO's pace was decent enough (pre-2010). Wimby got much slower than USO, especially in that second week.gallery play wrote:This player never should have won 2 wimbers. Never.
Let's not forgot that he struggled to young Querrey, Youzhny, Petchner and Haase when he was "at his peak". He only managed to abuse the rule then and beat those guys by the skin of his teeth, before the grass turned into clay the second week.
Anyway good to Dustin beating him like that.

It's going to be difficult for Nadal to equal, let alone surpass, fed's 17 slams.

Can you imagine a player like Nadal to break that record. That would have been too much really

For commenters it's just a case of counting major titles, so he can be forgiven. In fact it's almost a slight against Nadal that he isn't put second.

Re: Wimbledon Prediction Game: Day 4
What a day for the crowd on CC. Got to watch Fed in full flight first and then Brown beating Nadal with delightful tennis that seemed to have gone out of fashion 15 years ago. Still, the guy is an amazing shot-maker and a huge crowd favourite due to his unorthodox style. I hope he can make use of his great draw until QF now. Said he has beaten Troicki on a fast court before and was beaten by him on a slow court. Good Dustin.
Was sad to see him go out to Kei in Halle this year, but Kei's conistency and ability to return won out there. Nadal otoh.

Yes ...it woudl be difficult for a commentator not to say Nadal is top 3 having so many fans and 14 slams. .....but in a few years ...things might change.Autumnleaf wrote:noleisthebest wrote:Tim says he rates Nadal's at top 3 of all times...really, Tim?

I have just realised I missed out the key word FOREHAND...Henman was talking about his FH, not his success as a player.

It terms of winners I woudl not put it in the top 50! In terms of UEs it generated it's certainly in the top 3...though this is more due to Nadal's footwork than his FH.
