Even Fed has made him the favourite to win the event and usually he is right. Fed picked Nadal to win FO (it was nobrainer) as well.

Second serve ace
Easy peasy japanese so far for Djoko. His real test will start from next round onwards, probably Dolgo next, then Delpo and then Isner.

Ferret has been broken. Although I never root for Hewitt but I will not mind if he beats boring mouseman. Come on Leyton!

Two down, one to go.
Difficult, stifling playing conditions, Novak breathing hard, still, very flat match as Ben is providing very little challenge.
Saw the last point from the first set tie-break between Ferrer and Hewitt, those two breathing fine despite long grinding rallies (Novak's just finished his second set, and the other two ONE !!!)

I could not help it. Weather is good, no big plans for the Labor Day weekend, so last minute I bought a ticket and here I am now. Got here early, watched a bit of Rao's practice and then the first set of Nole. Now sitting here on the Grandstand waiting for Delpo's match. After this, and unless something extraordinary is happening on Ashe, I will likely end my afternoon on Armstrong watching Dolgo and Stan, and perhaps even some of Laura's match.

Feds chances heavily depends on how his semi final will go,most likely with Murray.Even if he wins in straight sets, not having a days rest before the final at his age is asking too much.He had a days rest at the Olympics and it still wasnt enough of a break after his marathon semi final with Del Potrowow3 wrote:Veejay wrote:Djokovic on fire, looks like he's the one to beat at this tournament

Well, he is if he plays the way he played in Olympics, not if he plays like how he played against Lopez.raiders_of_the_lost_ark wrote:wow3 wrote:Ferret has been broken. Although I never root for Hewitt but I will not mind if he beats boring mouseman. Come on Leyton!

Watching Dolgo Stan. Still flat, but will hot up nicely, just have feeling it will. Would love a 5 setter, which is almost guaranteed with Wawrinka.
Dolgo has already produced a couple of one-off funny looking volleys....

Yes I hesitated on that one and went for Dolgo but that was a mistake as I thought that Dolgo's BH would struggle v Wawrinka's BH.

Roddick the last of successful American male tennis player. Good to see him to survive for another day.
Delpo next, I think Roddick's chronicles will end day after. Never liked him as a player but will miss him.

Roddick, a kind of crazy player will quit tennis soon. Fed gave him so many trashings, that he had to give him a kind words for his goodbye and of course to recruit more fans to his side in US open. Fed is always so pathetic about players
I saw his today match with Fognini and it was really entertaining match with some nice rallies. Rodick had bad luck for slowing down of courts, but more on Fed.
It strange that Americans have no TOP player atm. Such a big nation with big support, modern laboratories and poor outlook. Somewhere is a mistake
Looking forward to Roddick with Delpo, hopefully Delpo will be ok.

Nadal out for the rest of the season?
"Roger Federer said he is not surprised by recent reports that Rafael
Nadal may be out for the rest of the season with knee problems, but is
not ruling out a return by the Spaniard this year.
"It's obviously not great news but one that was a possibility," said
Federer of Nadal's continuing absence. "I'm still hopeful that he'll be
okay for the rest of the year."
Federer contacted Nadal during Cincinnati to check on his status. After
winning his third-round match at the U.S. Open, he said the two do not
specifically discuss injuries, yet are generally open with each other
about their physical conditions.
"He sees me taped up. I see him getting taped up. We see each other
warming up for matches and so forth. You never really talk about that,"
said Federer. "I think it's quite personal except if one guy goes up to
the other. But we're both very open and honest, you know. When I ask him
how he's feeling, he's not feeling well, he'll tell me, I'm tired, a
little injured. There's no real secrets out there because he knows and I
know when we tell each other that stuff it doesn't leave the room.
That's a nice relationship I have with Rafa. It's based on a lot of
trust."

Yes I read that this morning.
Laura is so much more talented than Stosur, yet she is a set and a break down. Such a shame she threw so many BPs away on that match.

Fed seems to be a kind overheated from this friendship. Not too late when Nadal announced withdrawal from OG, Fed did not know anything about this. Fickle trust between them

Thats cause she's the bigger doping in the womans game...thats what you look like when you use Nandrolone
Interesting read from Federer,at this stage of the tour, there isn't that much point coming back cause theres only the WTF thats of any significant importance so I wouldnt be surprised if he doesnt come back till next season
The speculation of the silent ban continues....

From the jaws of defeat. Robson has made a record here, first British player to save 7 match points.
