US open 2012: ATP Matches of the Day: Day 6
Day 6 arrives and this is where things start to get very interesting. US open has strange scheduling and what's more strange is that they just can't see it. We fans of the game can try and enjoy whatever way it comes.
Matches for the prediction game:
Make your selections before the first match of the day starts. If you are unable to make your predictions, you'll get negative points in all matches i.e. it will be assumed that you got all your predictions incorrect. Tough rule I know, but this the is only fair option I see.
Good luck.
1. Mardy Fish (USA)[23]
vs.
Gilles Simon (FRA)[16]
2. Sam Querrey (USA)[27]
vs.
Tomas Berdych (CZE)[6]
3. James Blake (USA)
vs.
Milos Raonic (CAN)[15]
4. Andy Murray (GBR)[3]
vs.
Feliciano Lopez (ESP)[30]
5. Marin Cilic (CRO)[12]
vs.
Kei Nishikori (JPN)[17]
6. Jeremy Chardy (FRA)[32]
vs.
Martin Klizan (SVK)

Feli Lopez is the only tennis player I like as he does bring variety to the court as compared to Ferret, Almaggot, Nadull, Garnollers..
I very much doubt that Feli Lopez will be able to sustain this attack after second set. If Murray wins this, it's all over for Feli.

Nishi and Cilic in a tough battle, another one looking good for a5 setter. Feli Lopez if he wants can order a taxi now. Olympic champion will sail into the next round now.

Klizan looks good to get me 33 points atm but I have lost so many from 2-0 up, I wont be surprised if I dont get these as well.

Lopez's BH is such a liability for him. He is almost handicap off that wing. Easy pray to Murray's tactics.

Yes, and how can one do that when measuring 1m90?

It's beyond my understanding, if he plays like this than I will rather prefer Federer to win this.

Watching fed tonight, I suddenly realize my heart wasn’t pounding anymore like it used
to during the 1-2 years pre-USO 10 when he went from #2 to #3, being inconsistent,
error-prone and losing close matches. In that period, you could just feel that
he was wobbly and just not in control of his game enough to win. Oh, it feels so
good now not to be so constantly stressed watching fed.
BTW, Murray lost a set to Lopez, I don’t think he will be in the same Olympic form
if he gets to the semi and meet fed there. But I think we can count more on roger
to keep going steady and strong.

TBH I didn't expect Lopez to play this well but again Murray let him play that well. I very much doubt that Lopez would have on a set against Fed.
We all know that the manner of win does not matter at this stage. Murray is capable of beating Fed and who knows which Murray will turn up next week. Some tough matches coming for Nole- Dolg/Delpo/Isner. Andy's draw looks much easier now until Semi.

Poor Loopy. He lost the match despite having won more points! That's what confidence is all about.

Interesting game, I hope Blake holds. Amazing to see the injectinng and draining of confidence in his forehand.
He's still trusting it, that's good.

And he doesn't. The serve is letting him down. Or is he letting the serve down.
The eternal tennis question....

No, Murray will absorb Raonic's serve no problemo. And when his serve is being returned well, Raonic begins to panic and goes for the lines....and that's usually the beginning of the end. No plan B. Can't play without serve.

Murray should deal with Raonic, no problem (unless he throws in a total howler like 2010).

I can't believe Blake got bagelled in the second. What a distorted picture the score gives.
