I quit being a Nadal fan
I'm afraid I've decided that enough is enough. I cannot keep going on supporting Rafael Nadal.
I will admit that a part of me still wants to cling on to my previous support for Nadal. The Vamos-ing, the celebrations, the thrill of always being the underdog... it all has its benefits.
However I think the negatives of supporting Nadal is too much. Firstly he takes way too much time in between points, and keeps picking his butt. It's really off-putting when I'm just settling down to watch some tennis.
Secondly his interviews are extremely boring. If he wanted he may not even turn up, and I'm sure any of his fans could do his interview for him. We all know what he's going to say anyway. 'For sure, will be a difficult match, no? Daveed is a bery dangurus player, I have to try my best and play my best tennis to have a chance to win, no?' Zzz, how boring.
Thirdly he keeps getting injured every 2 seconds. Supporting Nadal is like supporting some Jenga blocks built by a 3 year old which are extremely unstable. Every day he seems to have new parts of his body which get injured.
Lastly I want to support a player who can hit beautiful one handed backhands like Federer, who doesn't need to grunt to get the ball over the net, someone whose average net clearance isn't 5 metres high on the forehand. Unfortunately Nadal is not that guy.

I am afraid, you can't! We need a Nadal fan here so we can have our regular Nadal and Nadal fan bashing fixes!
It's important for the health and sanity of the Anti-Nadal fans.

If I had a beef with Nadal - and I do - it wouldn't be for hitting the ball at the man.

NITB- ironic you use the photo of Nadal when he's lost on blue clay... it certainly was the last time he'd play on blue clay
BB- I know, I chose that clip because I found it funny how Djokovic as well as half the crowd reacted.
It reminded me of a similar thing in Australia a few years ago, where Almagro hit Berdych in the face, and Berdych got so annoyed he didn't shake Almagro's hand post match.

I see some in the other place have had a sense of humour by-pass.
That's said, I think your article contains much wisdom that one day perhaps you will come to see the truth of.

Haha yes, don't think I'm too popular with some Nadal fans on v2 at the moment.bogbrush wrote:I see some in the other place have had a sense of humour by-pass.
No human being is perfect, and that includes Rafael Nadal.bogbrush wrote:

I'm a bigger Nadal fan now than I ever have been I think, the more he's losing the more I tend to get behind him.

Bogbrush, thank you for clarifying this thread on v2
I'll be honest, I've been left speechless by some of the stuff.

Haddie seems rather angry at you Kimmy. It is interesting to see Nadal fans argue.

Your call. But tempers are running unnecessarily high to a very light hearted article. Oy vey.
