Yes but too fragile in DOlgo's case. Great shots....but too many mistakes....When he has a blue patch...fantastic...I agree.

Tenez wrote:Shoot. Would have like to watch a bit of Rublev.

I saw Chung yesterday v Berdych. Quite impressive too. He was leading 4/1 in the second set. What was impressive was his whipping of the ball. Very natural. But he is short and I heard he has a problem with his eyes...He wear special glasses. Still a promising player.

But I remember when 189yo Bagdhatis took a set of Federer in the USO 05? He was also very impressive..... but 10 years on and one feels he has seriously underachieved. I remember Bagdhatis has an extremely impressive FH...problem is the game moves on so much that the weapons of yesterday are standard today.

I didn't realise he was 4:1 up, that's not bad.

All these teenagers have good potential, it's just work, work, work for them now.

I like Rublev, he had a sense of entitlement about him, would be great to see him play Coric.
Both his serve and FH are better, not the movement, though.
You cam see he needs a lot of matches.
Didn't quite know what to do with easy shanked short balls from Isner, which was almost cute as those were the easiest shots which he managed to miss.

It was difficult to assess him properly against Isner.

What would you do about it?

Only once did I see him attempt to "rally", he got bored pretty quickly, but still won the match.

Feels like If he was really lucky...more than in the zone. His shots are simply too risky despite not taking the ball that early.

What a win for Dolgo Bubbly
Very happy for him, this would've been a heart-breaking loss as he played so, so well.

Shame for Robredo to lose in R2.

Once again, all the dangerous players are on the other side of Nadal. Raonic beats Nadal...you bet they send Rao on Djoko's side. Murray plays crap v Djoko...."mmm can I have him" says Nadal. Same for Nishi....Woudl have liked to see a Nadal Nishi.

I actually ended up watching the whole match Seeing Double

It was a classic Nole, failed to serve out 2nd set and then steamrolled Klizan in the third.

It's obvious how hard it is for him to keep the same focus and intensity through the entire match.

That's why Nadal has become so vulnerable these days.

I don't remember him always having that problem, it's become more obvious in the last 3-4 years.

He's always had dips and concentration lapses but wasn't struggling with serving out sets.

He relaxes but the opposition is now ready to pounce.

In general, matches have become a lot closer these days.
I believe partly because of conditions but partly because players have caught up with fitness.

Klizan was hitting the ball very hard and could keep it in play.
We didn't have those players 5 years ago.

Nadal is more vulnerable as he only has a plan A.

Didn't Klizan beat him last year or came close to it?

We had players like Klizan, with a bigger game, and more consistent- James Blake, Gonzalez, Nalbandian to name a few

Yes there's a difference: Blake and Gonzalez could hit the ball harder and with more consistency than Klizan ever did.
Nalbandian was just superior to Blake and Gonzalez, forget Klizan.

I am so glad Federer doesn't play Miami. This tournament is a disgrace. Always a copter or a plane circling around teh courts. How can that be tolerated? I remember the same was happening in that Miami 05 final. Fed was furious.

Then you have the ambulance, music loud from other courts.

They should scratch that tournament.

Nadal gets another time warning....from another referee...
I think the referees are teaming up against Nadal. They are angry at Nadal's treatment of Carlos.

Excellent! And that makes nadal nervous and annoyed. And then he tires a bit more and shanks at BP again., despite still taking lots more time than anyone else between points and in particular between 1st and 2nd serve.

Hopefully Verdy can serve it out this time!
