Re: ATP Masters 1000: Indian Wells
As the wind died down, Stakh was able to play his game and turn the match around, really good to see him win.

Yesterday I saw a bit of Fish/Harrison....the latter was moonballing like crazy...I remember he used to have flat risky shots and there he was playing worse than Nadal. I guess the conds are forcing this.

Sock has such an easy power. He makes many UEs but not by taking risk a la Dolgo but by being careless. The day he fixes that....he will be trouble .

And Sock comes back from 1/5 down to lead 6/5 in that first set....it's all in his racquet.

Re: ATP Masters 1000: Indian Wells
I saw Sock in Boodles last summer: he had all the shots etc, but lacked something, there just wasn't any drive in his game, he is similar to Pospisil - a tall, modern baseliner...
Thiem beat him comfortably just by driving forwad.
What Sock has to offer is not enough, Steve Johnson looks more promising, Sock is a bit happy go lucky, not sharp enough.

First chance for me to see some action-- these court conditions are a travesty for hard court... smh.. Ball is bouncing shoulder high from flat hitters. Pathetic that an owner feels the need to tailor conditions for one player who he is friends with.

So Larry is still in charge....is he? As I said earlier, I was stunned to see Harrison hitting nadal's like moonball as he is normally a flat hitter.truffin1 wrote:First chance for me to see some action-- these court conditions are a travesty for hard court... smh.. Harrison has improved a lot since I last saw him, esp the movement and defence.
Decent match against Nishikori.

Still a lot of of waste in his game. Mouvement is still poor actually. Have you seen those think legs of his.....that's a handicap in today's game. With better mouvement he woudl be much better.

Re: ATP Masters 1000: Indian Wells
Yes I saw his quads, he's a big boy.
He played a very good first set, had Nishi on the move forcing many UEs from him with deep, fast balls and could also hold his own with Nishi's fastest shots, I was impressed.
Then in the 2nd he lost a tiny bit of speed and that was it...couldn't keep up with Nishi any more.
He's heavy and not meant to run much.
You're right about the waste. He's traded his big attacking FH for baseline uniformity and looks a bit bland now.
Needs to fine-tune his game, still not too late.

Agassi was miles better...Harrison should S&V but his game is quite artificial atm, he is all bark and no bite.

No, thigh is above quads, top part of the upper leg.
What you call leg I call calves.
What I call leg is the whole thing.
So, yes, his calves or "legs" are tiny compared with the "rest" of it.

Dodig saves MPs with Ferrer serving for the match, breaks back, but loses a tight TB when he was up 5:3.
So Ferrer continues to perform.

Re: ATP Masters 1000: Indian Wells
They just showed the average time between the points for the two today:
Dimi - 18s
Kyrgios - 15s
Nice to see the guys get on with it. I kind of like them both, so too bad they had to play this early.

Just started watching Dimi-Kyrg.
There is something attractive about Kyrgios's game, he doesn't calculate much.

Odd turn of events. Kyrgios gets hurt while breaking Dimi's serve for 4:5. He then plays a bad service game and gets broken right back while serving for the match. 6:5 to Dimi now.
Can Kyrgios recover?

I was kind of split. Game-wise I prefer Dimi's game but I am also starting to get frustrated with him. As you say, he has been going backwards since Wimbledon. And I do like Kyrgios too. He certainly can hit it big, though overall I find his game less appealing.luvsports! wrote:I kind of wanted K to win. Dimi frustrates me no-end. He is 24 soon and has gone backwards since wimby.
