Didn't you know that Lajovic is the only player in the history of RG who hasn't dropped a set?
I only voted for Nadal to jinx him in order to get the all-Serbian final...

Re: Roland Garros 2014: MOTD Day 9 Mon 01/06/2014
1. Dusan Lajovic - not much to win there with Nadal
2. Simona Halep
3. Garcia-Lopez
4. David Ferrer joker - going the safe route here
5. Sara Errani
6. Verdasco with the upset of the day. Was wrong with the Kohlschreiber upset, but it was very close. Don't think Murray can do anything against our great No. 1 anyway.

I think he could, he has beaten Nadal in Slams before, and though currently Murray doesn't look at his best, but neither does Nadal. I don't buy those injury show-offs from Murray, he fakes those to distract his opponent.
Kohli is the kind of player Murray doesn't like, but Nadal... he just might.. especially this not-so-confident version.

Duci is striking the ball well, he just needs to setrle down in the match and calm those nerves.

But did you see just now how puffed out he was after those few long rallies, missed the next two FHs after that...there is hope!
Worst case scenario, Ferrer is really going to drain him, and make life much easier for Murray...if he gets to the SF.

But he always look out of breath....even from the first set....but 30s is enough to re-energise him for yet another rally.noleisthebest wrote:Tenez wrote:I though so at the beginning of the tournament...but less and less now. Shame that Lajo has a better length from his BH than FH. A deeper FH would do much more damaged!

I'm impressed with his BH length and returning. He's doing well for someone who's never played Nadal or won two consecutive matches on tour before this tournament.
I wish he went down the line with his FH though instead of wasting energy on CC exchanges...
I hope he continues to improve, he has had a lot of encouragement and support from his DC teammates.
It's so hard to come on tour with no money and no tennis federation/network in your own country to support you.

You need to see the close up of her face, though, camera is not showing it every time, I saw it the other week, scary sight...she opens/gapes her mouth as wide as possible when she hits the ball....

You are probably right, but I'll still keep my eye on him, I am so proud he's playing with a SBH, coming from a really small suburban town with no tennis courts at all. He clearly loves the game deeply.Tenez wrote:No I think this is more the case of ranked 80+ and over.noleisthebest wrote:There are plenty of those in top 30...he needs a lot of hard work and practice on his game, and more than anything - MATCHES! but you're right...Tenez wrote:

GG looks dead on his feet, all those 5 setters have caught up with him.
At the same stage of RG last year, Monfils was knocked out by another Spaniard who was living dangerously winning 5 setters - Robredo.

Monfils doesn't need an opponent, he can beat himself up pretty easily.
Looks like Andy is going through which is a good think for the rest of teh tournament. I expected him to be tired....but nowadays...it is a bit irrelevant.
