Monaco's dream run continues and he is now seeded 8th and thus for the first time, gets a bye in R1. Among the top-4 seeds, Ferrer [4] is in Fed's half and Djo and Murray are scheduled to meet in the semis. The blockbusts R1 will be Haas vs Nalbandian.

Peanuts draw for Fed.

Murray will probably not play in Cinci. Hope for a Fed Nole final.

This is how it all starts to look once 1-2 out of the top-4 withdraw. What do you have to say about Djo's path to Toronto's win; he isn't there as yet but who among the remaining 3 are likely to beat him? Who all did he have to beat to get to the semis till now. I guess among the 3 remaining, his biggest challenge could be Isner. And we know he is nothing much without those serves firing high in. The things is this is how the playing field itself has been compared to the top-4 since the last 4 years. Even the ones ranked 5-10 are not close to even challenge the top-4.

So now I don't think much about this "easy or tough draw" anymore. Its better to look at the path one has to come through.

I think he will play, he is defending 1000 points there and we know from last year how much he wants to be #3.
Not playing would mean he can't take any advantage of Nadal's absence, something I don't think Murray will do.
