Yes, Fed playing very well, but Nole gave him a lot of cheap points in the early games - three DFs in the first two service games, plus a few other bad misses.

I didn't see the first two games.

Al long as Fed plays well, it's going to be very tough for Nole because the balls are fast and so is Fed's pace, so very hard to play him.

But if anyone can come back it's Nole. His 1st serve has stopped, that's the problem atm.

Fed's tennis thrills me to bits, but I feel terrible for Nole

It works against Nadal if you think about it.

Well, that is not so clear either.  If he had Delpo and Roger in his group, he might potentially miss the SF altogether, whereas now he is bound to get there.

I don't think that's a fair assessment.
Federer did not allow him to play his best tennis, as soon as Fed's level dipped, Nole took over, which is a shame. I wanted to see a set where they were both serving well, but it didn't happen.
Those two netted FHs, one a volley, the other a routine inside out from the forecourt when he was broken in the 3rd set cost Fed the match.
Nole rarely plays his best tennis against Fed, it usually happens against Nadal, though.
I am so upset with London draw I just want him to demolish Nadal into atoms tomorrow!

Nole was quite poor early on.  I agree that Fed's level dropped significantly later on; it was not just Nole's improvement that turned it around.

Good win for Djoko.  

A Djoko and nadal final now is more meaningful given their current tussle for year end #1. The old lion must conserve energy to prepare for a greater mission in less than 2 days.

So greatest footwork, greatest stamina, greatest FH but yet loses 63 to old Ferrer!   

What gives Nadal's FH some points is his stamina. His #FH/Winners ratio is probably one of the worst on tour.
