Re: ATP Masters 1000: Paris
Tennis is already better than their last year's O2 final, by some margin!

Yes, Fed playing very well, but Nole gave him a lot of cheap points in the early games - three DFs in the first two service games, plus a few other bad misses.noleisthebest wrote:He's got no chance at the moment with Fed taking all the time from him, but I do expect him to get used to it and respond soon.summerblues wrote:Very nervous start from Nole.

Re: ATP Masters 1000: Paris
I didn't see the first two games.
Al long as Fed plays well, it's going to be very tough for Nole because the balls are fast and so is Fed's pace, so very hard to play him.
But if anyone can come back it's Nole. His 1st serve has stopped, that's the problem atm.

See this is what I now don't understand as per your position.noleisthebest wrote:JS,Julia Santmaria wrote:Who are you supporting out of Federer and Djokovic? (or I said something to that extent)
I know it's hard for you to see the world beyond fandom, and supporting Nadal is almost a matter of life and death for you, but it's not for me.
It really never has been.
I like both players a lot.
Just think of Richard Williams when he watches Serena play Venus.
You say you hate doping, you think Djokovic is doping and (I assume?) you don't think Federer is doping.
So how could you possible say that you see them as Richard sees his two daughters?
Surely you would hate the player you think is doping much more than you would Federer?

So, just lie back and enjoy the match, don't worry what I think, it's too much for you.

Really great set of tennis from Fed, he truly is back. If he wins this match, his confidence will rocket, and hopefully he can demolish Nadal tomorrow.

Your answer in no way addresses my point.
If I was to think of a reply more irrelevant, and more void, than the one your provided; I would seriously struggle.
Let me ask again:

Yes, I checked your post. Pretty good for Rafa even though one could argue that having an easy group makes it more likely that his SF opponent will be difficult. On the other hand, whoever wins the other group may have an easier semi.noleisthebest wrote:SB,

Well, that is not so clear either. If he had Delpo and Roger in his group, he might potentially miss the SF altogether, whereas now he is bound to get there.Julia Santamaria wrote:It works against Nadal if you think about it.

I don't think that's a fair assessment.summerblues wrote:Congrats Nole. Well done, winning in spite of not playing his best for most of the match.
Federer did not allow him to play his best tennis, as soon as Fed's level dipped, Nole took over, which is a shame. I wanted to see a set where they were both serving well, but it didn't happen.
Those two netted FHs, one a volley, the other a routine inside out from the forecourt when he was broken in the 3rd set cost Fed the match.
Nole rarely plays his best tennis against Fed, it usually happens against Nadal, though.
I am so upset with London draw I just want him to demolish Nadal into atoms tomorrow!

Re: ATP Masters 1000: Paris
Nole was quite poor early on. I agree that Fed's level dropped significantly later on; it was not just Nole's improvement that turned it around.noleisthebest wrote:I don't think that's a fair assessment.summerblues wrote:Congrats Nole. Re: ATP Masters 1000: Paris
Mirka’s half-smiling and face stress-free towards the end tells me that Fed only played the 1st set “all out.” After that, his drop in focus and momentum was just too drastic.truffin1 wrote:I wonder how all out he will play tomorrow or even in the final? On one hand- he can really make a statement and earn some good points... on the other- he's going to be tired going into WTF which he values next to a Major.
Good win for Djoko.
A Djoko and nadal final now is more meaningful given their current tussle for year end #1. The old lion must conserve energy to prepare for a greater mission in less than 2 days.

Nadal's FH is so ugly. Can't believe some consider it a top shot. Without his legs and stamina his FH woudl probably one of the worse shot on tour.

What gives Nadal's FH some points is his stamina. His #FH/Winners ratio is probably one of the worst on tour.
